Hey yall , im intersted in getting extensions , now my hair is a little bit below my shoulders but i wanted to add some fun colors to it like red or black but the same length of my hair. Now my hair is bleach blonde platinum and in OKAY condition , i was wondering if anyone could help me in choosing good shades or company things to choose, i was really intrested in the girl selling some FUNKY colors i like the red ones and the black ones. I was wondering if they were on a track? also i wanted to put the extensions in myself with the glue (bonding glue??) and i would only put them in certain places , to make it look like streaks. NOW lol what glue do i use for this and also when i want to take them out how do i go about doing this? and lastly will it damage my hair? THANKS SOOOO much

Hey Michelle,

Welcome. I'm not sure of the exact range of what Kristin's selling (in terms of weft/nonwefted), so I'll leave it to her to tell you. But lots of her colors would look great with platinum. I also like black with platinum, as well as some light browns, almost all of the pinks and wines, and even baby blue. Platinum's a pretty easy color to combine with, really--and I'm particularly fond of the shade, being a blonde, too.

I don't use glue, so perhaps someone else can tell you how to do that with individual streaks. But I also wouldn't recommend using glue for individual streaks, either, especially if you don't have much experience with it. I would use Shrinkies or extendtubes to attach them. Kristin's streaks are pretipped so you can easily use them with either of those methods. Shrinkies are less visible and have more holding power I think, but extendtubes are supereasy to install and might make more sense for first-time streaks.

Anyway, good luck--and keep us posted!

Yep Jenny's right, I wouldnt use bonding glue, it doesnt work well with individual streaks. Liquid Gold does claim that you can do individual bonding, but I havent had any luck with that. The best options are as Jenny said, the shrinkies or extentubes. The extentubes being the easiest and least expensive for a first go at it!

I also agree with Jenny and Sherrie about the shrinkies, they are sooo easy to do on yourself.

if you just want streaks, put them(shrinkies) about 1inch below your part, so you don't see the bonds. Then just cut off the extra extension length so it is the same length as your own hair.

As far as taking them out you just reheat the shrinkie with whatever heating tool you chose to put them in with and use glue remover(I don't know which kind, though) I used Bacardi 151 rum in a spray bottle to remove mine and it worked great. No, I am not an alchoholic, the guy that I work with uses it to remove Great Lengths. So I tried it and it works to remove the leftover residue from the shrinkies, likity split. Ok enough said, Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Time to get back to my drink.

Ooooooooo! Barcardi 151, huh?

One squirt on the hair, one in the mouth, one on the hair, two in the mouth, 1/2 squirt on the hair, 4 squirts in the mouth...

Hey, ::hiccup:: this is working great!

Hey there,
I'm the one selling the funky colors. They are in individual pieces which I suggest putting in with extendtubes. I can drop in a few extendtubes to your order for $.15 each. There's a tutorial for how to put them in here:

I'm a blonde and I LOVE the red extensions in my hair.... you'll love it too if you get that color

Let me know what I can do for ya,
Kristin
