We recently had a discussion about this very topic. I'm not exactly sure, but I think Cold Fusion is a branded method owned by Great Lengths. That said, I don't have a clue as to how it's done--sonic laser??? whatever that means--and I think it's very expensive (more expensive than GLs). I looked into this method when I was first researching extensions. It was new on the market at the time, and I couldn't find much information about it. I thought it would be damaging, though.
Oftentimes, other methods such as Hairlocs and Eurolocs are referred to as "cold methods," because they don't use heat to attach the extensions, but I think Cold Fusion is actually a whole separate branded method.

After the last discussion of the topic I did some research and I believe Jenny is correct. But also I think that any method of application that doesnt involve using heat can be classified as a cold method. But the actual cold fusion is great lengths.

Yeah. So any non-glue method (locs, links, braids, etc.) could be called a "cold process." Cold Fusion is a branded method of GLs. (As I said before, I still have no idea how CF is done--and frankly, I never hear that much about it from stylists or clients, so I'm not sure it's very widespread.) :)
