Hey all. I am getting Great Lengths next Tuesday for $250!!! Yay for me. Anyway, I was wondering if it is safe to color your hair with extensions and how the heck do you do it?? Doesn't all that glue get in the way? My hair is light brown (it was bleached blonde and I colored it dark) and I know it's going to continue to fade and my extensions will probably end up darker than my real hair. Any suggestions??

your getting great lengths for $250? the hair alone costs that much. make sire its really great lengths their giving you. some techs lie and say its grate lengths but its some cheap fusion hair.

you should just dye the hair. the bonds should not come out.

Friend of mine had the same application of GL in for 5 months and had her roots redone every 4-6 weeks. Her colorist did a great job and worked around the extensions. So, yes, it's possible!

It's really Great Lengths I swear!! The girls that is doing it is only 16 and her Aunt does Paris Hilton's hair and so she gets them at super discount. And since the girl that is doing my hair is obviously not licensed, she can't make a bunch of $$ off of it. She gives it to me for just the price of the hair b/c she is best friends with my sister-in-law. Usually she charges around $600.

That's a great price and the hair is beautiful, Monica, but just be careful. If your friend doesn't have a lot of experience, the results (in terms of damage to your real hair) could be bad. I'm not trying to scare you, but I'm just urging you to be cautious.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

A method like GL or any fusion method can be extremely damaging, even by a professional if it isnt done carefully. Im not saying a 16 year old girl"cant" be experienced or skilled enough to do this method but it scares the crap out of me! My advice get the hair....and do another less damaging method like shrinkies or extenstubes!

Sherrie's right, really. I wonder if you could have your friend try to do one of these methods instead. It wouldn't have the same potential for damage, and your friend could learn a new method, too! :)
