A request...
When saying you've tried heat shrink tubing and you didn't like it, can you specify what it was, where you got it and how you applied it?
There's thin wall, dual wall, adhesive and non-adhesive and then there's shrink ratio numbers (2:1, 3:1, etc) on every type. Applying with a curling iron can yield a different result than a flat iron or fusion wand.
I've seen several instances where plain old electral tubing is being called shrinkies when in fact they are not.
I personally would like to start keeping a list of what's working and what's not so we can keep a running score of things NOT to waste money on.

I bought clear, 1/8", dual wall, heat shrink tubing with a 3:1 shrink ratio from cableorganizer.com. I used a flat iron to put them in. What I didn't like was that once I had shrinked it (using the highest heat setting), the bond still wasn't small enough for my liking. I removed them by using the flat iron, and yes, they slid right out. There was the glue residue left, which was very hard to get out and I didn't like that at all. From what I've read, the "adhesive" is actually the inner wall of the tubing that melts when you apply heat. I know some people have used cableorganizer.com and liked the results. I don't know if shrinkies are a little different, but I just wasn't impressed by the whole method period. It was difficult to hold the piece of shrink-tube in place over the natural hair while simultaneously inserting the pre-bonded strand AND positioning the heat source.

That dual wall from cableorganizer doesn't do it either, in my book. I had the same issue even with a fusion wand. The tubing is too rigid and it doesn't shrink down enough. Frankly, it's too bulky. Cableorganizer is crossed off the list because that's the closest thing they had to offer.
I've got a couple more orders coming in for various types and sizes. We'll see what happens...
