My apologies in advance if these photos suck (this is the first time I'm posting photos, so...). Someone had asked me for pics of the Dome (can't remember who know), so here goes:

http://share.shutterfly.com/osi.jsp?i=EeANmLFuxaN27gQ - http://share.shutterfly.com/osi.jsp?i=EeANmLFuxaN27gQ

Photo 1 shows the Dome Classic hair (in white and light blonde), which, as you can see, is a loose wave about 28 inches long. On top, you can see the hair in its original packaging.

Photo 2 shows the same Dome hair (before I shook it out or brushed it), with two slightly shorter kinds of human hair. (The difference in colors between all of these is fairly dramatic, as you can see.) The topmost weft is unused Bohyme; the second down is Great Lengths (the tips have been cut way down for pretipping, as you can see). I actually wore the GLs for three months last year, left it in my drawer, and recently found it. That hair has been bleached several times, so it's fairly dull at this point (never achieved the color I wanted, either).

Like I said, the Dome is rather shiny--the blonde more so than the white, imo. Although, I believe the sheen subsides a bit after a few washes.

Just let me know if you can't see these for any reason, and I'll try plan B (not that I know what that is...).

:)

Saw em just fine.

The shine is offputting. Just comparing that and Plastikhaar, I think I like Plastikhaar better.

You have both with you so what's your comparison of the two? Which is most like and would style most like human hair?

One thing I've learned over the long haul -- good hair doesn't excite me as much as it used to when it's new. It's got to perform over time to get my approval.

Do you think it looks too fake compared to the human hair? (I know it's hard to figure out from the photos...). My problem is that, as I said before, my haircolor is really not quite as white as the Dome white, but the light blonde is too dark.

Anyway, I've got lots of PlastikHaar coming too, and possibly Prostyles, so I'm sure I'll figure it out.

To anyone who wants very wavy hair, I would recommend going with the Dome Wave, rather than the Dome Classic that I've pictured here. The Classic does have some wave, but as you can see from the photos, it's not very wavy, and I haven't even worn it, wahes it, or brushed it hard yet. The texture would be fine for me, but again, for anyone wanting a real wavy look, the Classic might be too loose. :)

Hey AMM,

Actually, I don't have the PlastikHaar yet. My color is backordered, so I won't be getting it for at least a week unfortunately.

Based on the photos you and others have posted, though, I think the PlastikHaar may be less shiny, too.....

:)

Tell ya what, I had to do a double take at that 28mm Plastikhaar because I could not tell the difference between that and human. Even feeling it, it feels like human. I just gotta know how to care for it right before I make the leap.

re: Dome. It doesn't look fake, per se -- I mean, the texture looks ok. It just looks REAL shiny like doll hair. How's it feel?

(Oops, one more edit. The shine could be flash reflecting off it?)

The flash probably has something to do with it. In person, the white hair isn't all that shiny, but the blonde is very shiny--in the photos, I think they look like they're more similar in terms of sheen than they really are.

As far as the feel of it, I think that's great--no worries at all. It's really only the shine that concerns me.... I posted on Quinn's the other day, and they seem to feel that ProStyles is about the same in terms of shine.

Frankly, I have more hope for the PlastikHaar in general, just because they have a broader range of colors and (hopefully) a blonde shade that's more similar to my own. I suppose only time will tell, but I'm glad I'm ordering all this stuff to compare it before it's actually in my head.

Have you been experimenting with the PlastikHaar at all, AMM? I know you tried a curling iron on it the other day, but I was just wondering if you'd conducted any further experiments.

:)
