Amm,

I noticed the other day that you mentioned the "sizzling" sound when you applied the shrinkies. When I applied them to my own head, I used a flatiron, so I figured they didn't sizzle because the heat wasn't as high. But today, I did shrinkies on my boyfriend's head with the Doc clamp (turned all the way up) and it didn't sizzle at all. The whole process seemed to work OK, but I'm wondering if I didn't let them "cook" for long enough.

Is everyone sizzling here 'cept me?

:)

Jenny I heard the sizzle too even with the flatiron. What temp. did you have your iron at and how long did you clamp the shrinkies?

I had it on 180 degrees (celcius), for about 7 to 10 seconds each. :)

I heard a sizzle when I tried the shrink tubing with both the flatiron and a hot curling iron.

I always thought that it was the glue on the pre-tipped that was sizzling - not the shrinkie. I've also noticed that if the shrinkies are cold, they will heat up, but not shrink, just get soft and then go back to normal. If I leave the iron on them longer then 10-15 seconds, the whole thing just curls up and goes away.
