yes, the extension hair can be permed. best to do it a few days before you put them in the hair and remember that that processing time it quick. 3-5 minutes. use solution for color treated hair. rinse in the hottest water possible for about 5 minutes let dry for 24 -36 hours(on the rod) and skip the nuetralizer solution. thats the best way to perm them.

I agree with the method that Oly described.
I have permed wefts in this way and it works good, but once the solution is on, you have to watch it like a hawk. I'd use a perm for highlighted hair.
I have had the best luck perming extensions with an Iso #3 perm.

I guess my opinion is different on this one...I definitely wouldnt recommend perming extension hair. The hair is already highly processed unless its pretty high dollar top notch virgin cuticle hair. And blondes or light colors are even more processed. I dont think most blonde extensions would hold up well to perming. Even gentle perm solutions are quite harsh on dry hair.
Besides why buy straight and perm when you can buy the hair with the texture and curl already in it?

I'd have to agree with Sherrie. I can understand perming extension hair if you happen to have the hair already and want to give it some curl, but I would try to buy the texture you want from the get-go. :)

i agree with you jenny. however, if you do already have the hair and want to perm it, this is the best method. see, the trick is to take it off right away and rinse in that hot hot water. the nuetralizing solution is what really shocks the hair, thats the "bad" chemical, so you skip that step and "air nuetralize 'it instead. this method doesnt leave the hair bad. but again, like you said, if you havenot purchased it already, just get it in the right curl pattern.

My experience - I permed silky straight before and it turned the hair to a grey sludge and it stunk to high heaven. Worked great on my own hair but it wasn't even close to ok with the extension hair.
