how many ounces of hair do you actually need to do your whole head in micro-ring?

That's a good question. It really depends on how much hair you have (thickness and length), how long and thick you want to make it, the size of your head, and how far up you want the extensions to go.

This is based partly on my taste (and I like really full hair). But let's just say you have short hair and want to add a lot of length and fullness with 18-inch hair. Imo, 4 ounces is the mimimum you'd want to order, and 7 ounces is the max. When the hair is longer (like 22 or 24 inches), the actual amount of strands you get per ounce are less because of the weight of the hair, so you'll want to keep that in mind too.

Are you planning to do your whole head, a partial, or just streaks? How long do you want the hair to be and how long is it now?

:)

I've started ordering two 4oz bundles now for each client so I don't have to worry about how much hair I have xxx

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. The 4 oz. just isn't enough for me, I've found. :)

Thank you for answering my question. My hair is shoulder length and just a little bit of thickness. I wanted to do my whole head. As well I like my hair extensions to make my hair look full.

I bought 2 small bundles of REAL human hair and it suppose to weight a total of 4oz. But it only looks like enough to do a couple of rows in the back of my hair. By the looks of it, it seems like I need about 6 more bundles.

I don't know, is 8 oz. really enough? I found a web sight that show a short video demo on how to do the micro links. I know dr. lock just shows pics. Does anyone know of a web sight that shows the video demo?

I dont know of any websites that has a video demo but I know you can buy the video that goes into alot more detailed instructions. Check docs website I think she has a video for sale.

Oh, as for the amount of hair that somes bundled up in a package..its decieving how much is actually there. Its so compacted and small in the packages!

Oh, and keep in mind that the bundles are all the same weight, regardless of the length of hair. so if you've got bundles of long hair, like 20" or higher, then you'll have less volume of hair because most of the weight comes from the length of the hair (that doesn't sound very clear, but I hope you understand). So if you're doing a full head of really long hair, like 24", you may need three bundles to get a good thickness. That should be plenty, though.

I started doing micro links in my hair, is it better to do them in rows or pinch the hair by little strands and put them like that?
