Date Posted: January 27 2005 at 11:23am I had purchased some hair extensions on the internet and was wondering after reading a few posts about their authenticity. I was suggesting to burn a strand to see if it was real or not. Yes mine are human hair. thank goodness after spending a ton on them!!! I also burned a synthetic hair and it smelled just like plastic. It balled up into a hard little ball and did not budge when I felt it. As opposed to the human hair which balled up and flaked off when I felt it. Also stunk like burnt hair.
