It took me a coupla hours to do 15 or so. I would get the amount of hair I'd like to tip, then holding it firmly, cut it from the weft. Then I'd paint on some liquid gold, some hairs would move up and I'd try to pat them down, pulling out more hairs, then I'd try to put it down and it would stick to my hands, I even tried using finger cots. Also, I made some way too big. What chance do I have of cutting it in half and having two tips? I need to get some nail glue today. Right now the thought of making 200 of these is a bit overwhelming. I am trying to do this when my toddler is asleep, otherwise I would be doing this with her in my lap 'helping' me. Thanks for reading, Rose |

So, has anyone made a tip too big then cut it in half? I just ordered a jar of microrings from DrLocks and another jar from hairpiece. We'll see which one gets here first. Oh and some more on sale hair from superhairfactory, same colour (31) and a bit of strawberry blonde for hilights. I am trying to think of a way to streamline the process. I think I need to get a popsicle stick so Im not getting so much hair on the liquid gold brush. I also was able to straighted out the deep wave with my straightener. Woo. ------------- |

Fan the tip out and make sure glue gets on every strand. I'm a little confused as to why the hair is "moving up" a lot. When I pretipped mine, I'd hold the ends together, brush on the liquid glue, and it would start to adhere almost immediately. Then, I'd just roll them a bit while they were still tacky, but the hair didn't move up or down much; the ends of the hair sort of bunched together with the glue. Rose, I Feel your pain!!!! LG is messy. The brush and bottle got all hairy and funky(eewww That sounded really gross) It took me 6,not consecutive, hours to do 150. I learned a lot...however, Next time I use it I'm going to try pouring it into a wider but shallow glass jar and use an orangewood stick rather than the brush-it was to limp for my liking. Yes, I used the "popsicle" stick to smooth through-that works great. It still took for ever! The entire time I kept thinking..."There's got to be a better way!" If I answer that Q... I used my flat iron to see if I could get it straight. I like the curly but want the option. Maybe I need to pour some of the liquid gold out so I can just dip it in, set it aside and get another. I was able to do 10 in about a half hour, so its getting better. Im sure if I had the consecutive hours to do it, I could do it faster. Doing it in bits and pieces, well it doesn't get the rythm going. Thanks Gina :) Rose ------------- |

Dont pour out the LG, it hardens really fast and youll just waste it. When I did mine I used a spare piece of poster board. One side is shiney and one side is dull. I cut about an 8 inch x 8 inch square, I cut the hair from the weft, pulled out the short hairs, then I fanned it out, then I rested the fan on the poster board and painted on the LG, that should keep the hair from moving up on you. I blew on it for a few seconds then I rolled it between my fingers. Its still a bit tackey so I set it aside on the unused side of the poster board. Use the shiney side of the poster board, the LG dosnt stick to it. When I got about 12 tips done, I would roll them one more time to make sure I had a nice uniform tip and then I would set them aside. ------------- SHE human hair blend, 18", #4 with Supertape. |
