Can anyone who has a Plastikhaar ring (natural and funky color) fan out the ring and post a photo of it?
Anyone... anyone...?
Syren123, I believe you have one on order? If one doesn't get posted, can you do yours when you get it?

You betcha. I ordered it on 1-25...I believe the color rings only go slow-boat post, which should be a week or so. I only ordered the natural colors ring. I'm too old to be doing the wild thing, hair-wise I mean. I was thinking of another way to correlate the colors so everyone can get an accurate picture...maybe get one of the standard color charts from a hair color company - Clairol, Loreal, Goldwell - and match the Plastikhaar to those. So if you want, say, Bombshell Blonde #whatever, I could match that swatch to the closest Plastikhaar color, know what I mean? Just thinking. Will let you know when it arrives.

Enh. Okay, so I tried last night, but the photos didn't come out well. The lighting in my new apartment is simply not that bright, so they were grainy as hell and the colors were way, way off. Some of the red-browns looked magenta. So, I'm gonna try it again outside on the next sunny day (sunlight is so much more consistent than indoor light).
The shades on the color chart are still a good guide- even the most innaccurate swatches aren't more than 2 or 3 shades off. Also, keep in mind that even if I take a photo of my color ring, and it looks perfect on my monitor, it will almost certainly look different on someone else's- lighter, darker, more red, less red, etc. The best thing to do will probably always be to ask Sara, or me, or anyone else with a color ring. Questions like "Is there a blond shade lighter than X?" or "Is Mahagoni an ash or a warm brown?" will almost always get you a more accurate match than a color chart.
That bein' said, I'll try to get good photos of mine, weather willing.

Oh, and for a reference thingy...if people are familiar with the standard extension-hair shade numbering system (the one that goes 1, 1B, 2, 4, 6, 8...22, 24, 27, 30, 33, 35, etc), then that's a pretty good one to use. I can usually tell people what the closest match to, say, #33 is.

Exactly, Rae...using the standard hair color numbers is the best way, IMO. So the color ring doesn't reference those, only names them by name? Weird.

The names throw me off, for some reason seeing a medium auburn then having the name be in another language perplexes me.
Thanks for taking the time to take some photos of the rings for us Rae!

Syren: well yeah, because it's Sara's own color system (kinda like how Great Length's color numbers are sometimes the same as standard ones and sometimes not)- and she buys the hair directly from manufacturers in Asia, not from Zury or Modu or Apex- so it's not pre-numbered, but rather she kinda "invents" them herself.
That said, many of the colors intersect with standard shades, so someone with a color ring (like me or Sara or you) who is familiar with standard colors can look up a match. At some point I'll sit down with my color rings and write up all the matches I can find (including Trimco, if that'd be useful to anyone.)
