Hi there, I did a client on Saturday and tipped with latex then completely covered the tips with nail glue. The hair was quite thick and dense and I made thick strands so this made the tips quite big. Anyway I put them in with shrinkies and she's had 19 come out. I noticed when I was putting them in that because of the size of the tips that the dr locks wand only seemed to be shrinking front and back of the shrinkie. Do you think I should have turned the wand round and shrunk the sides too. Got to reapply them for her today, bonds are fine and fabulously in tact xx

Im not sure Amanda, it sounds like they may have been just too big. Id make the tips somewhat smaller to avoid the problem, on shrinkies that I had to heat twice they didnt seem to shrink down quite right. I just used a few bigger pretips from doc locks, she sent me some awhile back that were made too big. And I didnt like the results of them with shrinkies. I had to turn the iron around like you said, and I dont like the way they turned out. The havent come out yet but theve only been in 5 days...not sure?

Thanks Sherrie, can you keep me posted as I've done so many in this client's head as she wanted super thick streaks everywhere so now I'm frightened her whole head is going to come out eventually, there's no point me reapplying them and heat all four sides of the shrinkie if they are still going to come out xxx

Have you asked AMM? I only ask because she makes her tips pretty big and they seem to work, so maybe she has some tips and tricks to share? :)

my tips are big too, some literally had to be crammed in. the boyfriend heated it, rotated it 90 degrees and heated it again, then rolled it with his fingers. havent had a single one come out yet and it seems to be holding very secure

So far mine are staying in fine too. I wanted to get some shrinkies on my head for testing when I redid my extensions. I didnt have any of my regular hair that I use pretipped for shrinkies. I had some pretipped strands from doc locks that they made too big, they were too big for microrings but I thought Id give it a try with the shrinkies. I dont like them this big I guess because they are as big as a fusion bond, and I like the idea of a smaller bond with shrinkies, but they are holding so far. I also used my flatiron not a heatwand, so I think they may shrink down better with a regular tool thats made for the job!

Thanks a lot Kalika I'm glad to hear that you had large tips in too. Well Ive put the ones that have come out back in and shrank each side so I'll just have to keep replacing them as they come out and eventually hopefully they'll all stay in then, I should have used my common sense really xx
