So I'm getting my first synth ever this weekend (I know I've mentioned this a million times now). Anyway, I'm planning to use half Dome, half PlastikHaar (primarily because I like the PlastikHaar length and texture better, but Dome has a lighter color that I need to add to the mix).

Does anyone see any potential pitfalls with mixing brands? Should I keep all the PH on the lower half, for example, and just use the Dome above that, or can I alternate freely strand by strand? Can I actually mix the hair within the strands themselves, or is that just asking for trouble?

Thanks in advance, :)

I've only had experience mixing synths in falls, but I don't see why it would matter if the textures are similar. It's not like you're going to have cuticles that catch or anything. You might want to take a small pinch of each and mix them together just to see what it looks like before you install.

It'll be fine.
Hey Jenn, I had found a link to the Plastkhaar store somewhere on here but lost it.
When I go to the site I can't find the link to the synth hair.
If you have it can you post it?

Yep, I'm lazy.

Coolio! Thanks, girls. I think I've covered all possible bases now.

Bridget, here's the link to the wave patterns too (it's kinda hard to find on the site): http://www.plastikhaar.ch/bilder/curls.jpg - http://www.plastikhaar.ch/bilder/curls.jpg I think Sara mostly stocks 28mm and 50mm, but she can get the others. Also, she can do wefts by request; otherwise, it's standard bulk.

Also--and you probably already know this--but if you're planning to order from PH, just make sure to order a color ring first or check with Sara about the colors (they're very different in person than on screen). Rae's a ring-keeper too and is always helping us out.

Yippie! Thanks, Mer.

How's the hair holding up? Has it lost its wave yet, or have you reset it? :)

Jenny, I did just order a natural color ring, but I think I messed up my order!
I emailed Sara to find out what bufoonery I've caused.
I don't understand why the color rings are so expensive. Any other company they are $20 for ALL the colors.
Ah well.

I can't order any hair without seeing an accurate representation, so I have to get one.

How is the Plastikhair holding up? Anyone know? I would love to know how this type washes; such as do you use conditioner on it? Shampoo? Does it tangle in a big ball when wearing it? The Med. brown that Sara sent me was too dark for my hair though. I would buy it if I could get a color match. I sent her a sample of my hair and she sent back the best match I guess.

ahhhh I just remembered something. (scarey, I know!) If anyone is interested in a PH color ring we should all get together on it somehow, and place an order. I remember Sara saying in a post that if enough people were interested she may be able to give a better price on the rings.

Thanks, Mer!

I know, Bridget: It's strange: The rings are pricey, but the actual hair is quite reasonable. I have no idea why... :)

I think it's 'cause there are so many colors? I have rings from other synth and human systems, and yeah, they were $20ish each, but there's only like 10-20 colors on them. PH, on the other hand, has 70+ rainbow colors and 40+ natural ones.

Completely guessing, though.
