I REALLY REALLY dont like to use LG for temporary bonding. Its a very tight/strong bond and doesnt come back out real easily. Ive done weft bonding for a long time and used alot of types of glue and LG is one of the strongest Ive ever used, which works great for longer wear like 4/6 weeks. But if you intend to only have them in a week or two then LG bonded wefts will be difficult as heck to remove! The easiest to remove glue I know of is ChrissyV. glue. It will hold up almost as long as LG but comes out easier too. ChissyV is actually the easiest of glues to remove that I have found. You put the remover on the bonds and they release within seconds and the residue just flakes and combs right out quite easily. BUT ChrissyV is sooo expensive, which is the reason I switched to LG.

I like the Chrissy V bond glue too, but I have had a lot of clients who said it burned their scalp when applied.

Maybe a latex allergy?

Hmm not sure about the allergy thing. I know it stings my head for a few seconds too, the same with LG or most chemical type products that I get on my scalp. Its usually just a few second sensation that subsides as soon as the glue starts to set. Nothing that really hurts or alarms me.

Metalgirl,
I've got the Chrissy V DVD (yeah, I have that one too) and was planning on buying her line for weft bonding. I thought it would be better than the other stuff in the BSS.
I just wanted to ask you if you think I should look into another line because of the burning thing?
I really liked the idea you can mix her colors to get your perfect color for each client.
Have you used her line for a while, and does it last really last 5+ weeks in the hair?

I hope I'm doing this right..I've been reading this board for the past two days, but have not posted yet. I had to respond to your question though..I have had my hair extensions put in using Liquid Gold each and every time. The lady that does my hair, glues in the tracts (I buy the hair...I use human hair), and they usually last me 2-3 weeks. I take them out with baby oil, and they slide right out with no problems at all. I've not had any breakage or damage of my own hair at all. I've been reading this sight recently as I'm wanting a longer-term extension ASAP...I'm looking in to the fusion method. I just hate spending so much $$$ (and my hubby is on my case about the price...I showed him the pics of the girl with the synthetic hair that her boyfriend did, so now he's dead-set on learning to do the extensions himself! LOL!). Anyway, didn't mean to get off the subject. Just wanted to let you know that I've had nothing but extremely positive experiences with the LG and temp. tract bonding. If I knew how to add pictures, I would show you how my hair looks with the extensions. Come to think of it, I'll just post a link to our vacation to Cancun this past summer..I had them in then. They held up wonderfully...we were in the ocean or pool all day long, I flat-ironed them, curled them, etc., etc. and they held up wonderfully! Good Luck!

Christi, very beautiful indeed. I dont have anything negative to say about LG. Its actually the only thing I use these days for weft bonding. I use a technique of sandwiching the wefts to make them stronger and last longer which is most likely the reason that they are more difficult to remove. I guess if I know that they are only going to be worn for a couple of weeks I probably wouldnt do the 'sandwiching'. Thus resulting in easier removal. I also think that my hair is very dry and no scalp oils at all so the bonds stay strong for a really long time. I only have one lady left that I do weft/bonding on and the same applies to her application/removal too. And I really believe from my experience that the LG bond comes out fairly easy once the bond has weakened (which I find with my technique) is usually about 5 weeks. But when its still a strong tight bond I find it a bit more work to remove.

Sherrie~

We go every summer, but this past summer we stayed at the Hyatt Cancun Caribe Beach and Spa Resort. We got REALLY lucky though..we booked a regular ocean view room, but when we checked in they were booked. So, we got to stay in one of their beach-front villas (and no extra charge!)..it was AWESOME! Basically, it's right on the beach, and the room is all granite and marble, with it's very own indoor terrace, as well as an outdoor terrace which overlooks the beach/ocean. We've already decided that we will definitely stay there again this coming summer...it beats every other hotel we've ever stayed at, plus..it's right smack in the middle of EVERYTHING. All the major clubs, restaraunts, shopping centers, etc. are right outside the hotel. We walked everywhere..and never had to take a bus or taxi at all. I highly recommend it! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! I can also tell you how to get an INCREDIBLE deal on the whole trip, if you don't have a way already. Just to give you an idea...we stayed for 4 days/3 nights, and it cost us less than $900 for both of us..that included airfare AND hotel!! I'm not lying, either! Hope this helps some!

Damn, Christi! I just checked out your photos. My God--your body puts the teen pop-stars to shame. Seriously, though, are you on the 1,000-situps-a-day plan? You must work out constantly, right? (You will be forever hated, you realize, if you say you were just born that way--LOL). Man...looking at your photos makes me want to work out or something....

Your hair looks lovely, too, by the way! I'm just a bit blown away by anyone who looks that good in a bikini.

Note to self: Join gym immediately..... :)

LOL~ okay, go to www.worryfreevacations.com

They have "Red Hot Deals" every Tuesday, and most of the time those include $79 airfare. Now due to the fact that most travel agencies buy these deals in bulk, you have to be at your computer at exactly 12 A.M. (I believe it's EST) on Tuesday to book the trip. Also, the trips are usually really soon...so you have to be ready to travel within a 2-4 week time frame. We do it this way every year. You can check out there website at anytime so you can get familiar with it, and also to see if they have a departing city near you. I would never call them or a travel agency though, as they will up the charges in no time. We've never had a bad experience using them, and we've done it strictly online each and everytime we go. If you need any more info, just let me know! I know it sounds too good to be true, but it's really NOT! We've always stayed at a 5 star hotel, and have NEVER paid over $900 for the both of us to fly AND stay there. Granted, we do not go all-inclusive, and you CAN do that, but we typically don't spend the extra $400-500 on food an drinks while we are there (at least, not at the hotel).

LOL Jenny! You are too freakin' nice, but I don't always look that way. I have 5 kids, so most days I look like major crap. Yes, my hubby and I do work out...BUT, I was never this thin until I had kids (I know, sounds weird). Also, I never worked out until after baby #5. Once again though, I was extremely athletic as a teen so I think my body still retained some muscle tone from that. Plus, I do have Crohn's disease (an auto-immune disorder) which keeps me thin no matter what (but it's not fun to deal with, believe me...one of the reasons I started obsessing over extensions...I've had to take chemo., steroids, etc. in the past which left my hair CRAP!). But, enough about me...I promise, I'm FAR, FAR from perfect. I have many things I would love to change (like all this "accordian-skin" on my belly from all the kiddos), my butt that has fallen to my knees now, etc.~ LOL! You all should talk..I've been looking at everyone's pics here...I have yet to see an ugly chick yet! haha! You all are GORGEOUS!

Yeah, it's a good-looking group here. I'm constantly amazed by it. It's always funny actually seeing pictures of people, because over the computer, I always envision them as looking like a motherboard or HTML tags or something.

Five kids makes your body even more amazing! I know a few people who have Crohn's, and it's really quite a challenge for them; no fun, indeed. It's interesting, too, how certain medications really affect the hair, along with pregnancy, b/c pills, vitamin deficiencies, and so forth--lots of stuff I never realized until I started researching it online.

Save-a-Stray:

Yes the Chrissy V system willl last in the hair for 5-7 weeks if you put them in like she shows in her video tape. (Sandwiching the weft between the natural hair. ) I also did as she recommended, and teased the hair along the part line and spraying it with hair spray before applying the bond and weft.

This was a decent method, but I had clients complain that the stuff burned their head. Also, I found that you could only reuse the hair about 2 or three times because the latrex is hard to get off of the top of the weft.

If the clients hair is kind of thin on top, it was hard to conceal the line of bond along that top weft.

Also, removal could be messy, but I think that was largely due to clients not detangling their hair as I instructed them.

Thanks Metalgirl,
I saw on the video she used custom hand-tied wefts. I was thinking that they probably wouldn't be able to used them too many times because of the glue. I know some people prefer machine wefts for bonding because they can't get a lot of use out of the hand-tied and they cost more.
What wefts do you use mostly for this bonding system?

Oh, your gallery is really good!!.... What kind of human hair is that?

Thanks

Nope. Used it on my weft to conceal my She-Mullet!
Baby oil worked fine. Used an all purpose comb. Carefully workd ends to roots. Then went through again, carefully, with the fine teeth. No problems what so ever. Followed up with my " Davines " Well Being poo and conditioner!
Baby oil worked for ME like a charm...just be gentle and patient!
