I don't have the same software as you do, but the menus should be similar. On mine I need to click "image" then on the Image menu, "size". This brings me up a box showing the size of the picture. I can change it by typing in a different size or clicking on a increase/decrease button. Doing it this way (on my software) automatically decreases the file size proportionally. Somewhere in the menus you will find an option like this. Also, it is possible to compress when you save, but this is probably not necessary for what you're trying to do. -------------

Depends on what OP you have. I have Windows XP. I got a digital cam for my birthday (yippeee) and the program it came with, I couldnt find anywhere on it to resize pics. I did a search and on the Windows XP download site you can get a free program for resizing pics. When you right click on a pic there is now a resize image option. There's resizing, and then there's resizing, lol. You can resize the file size while keeping the picture size the same using compression; saving as .jpg with 80-90% compression is the best way to do this and keep most of your quality. You could also resize the picture itself, and naturally you'll also get some reduction in file size doing that. I use Irfanview, its a great little program, very small and uses next to zero resources, you can even do batch resizes, image conversions and such. I like the idea of a right-click menu resize thing, never heard of that before.  ------------- |

I have Windows XP and I use the Paint program. I open up my image. On the tool scroll bar I click on "image", then go to "Stretch/Skew". In the stretch category you can shrink your image but it's all done by percent. If I want my picture 1/2 the size I enter the number 50 in both the horizontal and verticle boxes. If you mess up or make it too small go to "Edit" and then hit "Undo" and try a different percent. Hope that helps, Kristin -------------  http://www.YourHairShop.com - www.YourHairShop.com
