Count me in. I actually would be interested in getting both rings--the funky and the natural colors--if that makes a difference at all. :)

I'll go in on one.
Perhaps we can have them shipped to one address and the person who gets them can mail them to everyone to save on overseas shipping. These should cost no more than $3.85 for priority shipping in the VCR size boxes that USPS provides for free.
I can take care of the shipping to everyone if they'd like.

|

Syren, I havent decided yet what Im going to do as far as the PH is concerned! The two that I have that I call light browns, according to her color chart are actually blondes! naturblond and hafer. To me, if these are blond, they are very dark & ashy looking. I dont think her color names match the #s that she lists. At least not on my human hair color ring. By the Way: I dont know how much human hair color rings vary but I went though the list that Sara posted and her numbers and descriptions DO Not match up to my human hair ring....so I think we really need color rings to be safe girls!

Sherrie: I haven't seen that pic of you since I first joined the site. I forgot how pretty you and your hair are. I'm amazed that you're able to create such natural-looking curls with your iron (I've never been very good at it). Is your hair still that blonde, or have you already started going darker? Is it 613 in the pic? :)

Thanks Jenny! And yes Im still 613....I know I really need to go back to my natural, but Im just not sure if Im ready! That picture is actually about 8 months old. But I still wear it the same. I took a few pictures of myself in the mirror last night. They are really crappy photos but you can see how I wear my hair. And need to figure out if I can get the look with PH before I make the switch. I usually have no success with hotrollers. But I did my hair tonight with hotrollers and LOVED the way it turned out. Heres my photo album...feel free to look around! I could use any advice on creating the look I like with PH...if its possible! http://www.picturetrail.com/sherrie215 - http://www.picturetrail.com/sherrie215
PS....I usually dont look that bad, and it was 12:30 am and my hair do was about 13 hours old! LOL

How about we put the cuttoff for requests for this Wednesday?
Anyone who does not have Paypal, I will ask that you send me a board mail and I will give you my address. Money orders or cashier's checks are preferred. Personal checks will hold up the order. I'd like to get this ordered by the middle of next week if possible.

Goyls,
Just thought of something. . . I mentioned that I have an import business. I get *great* rates on incoming international shipments. . . I have things shipped to me internationally *ALL THE TIME* via FedEx and UPS, and it takes about 4 days. I know how to clear customs in a hearbeat (as well as the tariffs/codes for everything which I'm sure Sara knows too).
There is absolutely NO REASON why we should have to wait 3 weeks or even 2 weeks for anything from Sara!!
I'm going to let her know that and see if she'll ship using my FedEx number. Are you interested??

p.s. i ordered some plastikhaar a week or so ago....love love love it. my conservative friends and family were shocked it wasn't "real"; better than any human hair (particularly for the cost) i've had...i have a mullet thing happening right now as i'm doing it little by little with shrinkies, but when all's done i'll post a pic.

OK the FedEx thing is handled.
I just ordered 6 bags of hair from Sara (guessed on the colors, what the heck. I ordered several shades of light brown, and 3 blondes).
Sara said that yes she can ship FedEx using my number and use the tariff code I gave her (there is no tariff on synthetic hair but customs wants to know and it speeds up getting the product.)
YIPPEEEEEE!! THANKS y'all. I just looked through the thread that Kalika did on her AMAZING hair and I am really really excited to do this with shrinkies!!!
Amm, I told Sara that when she received an order from "Anna" in the USA for about 30 color rings, to ship using my FedEx number. The order will be to you in about 3 or 4 days.

I'm pretty certain I've converted. Not to get political or pedantic her WHATSOEVER, but I really agree with what Sara says on her website (posted below). Every time I had human hair put on my head I really wondered about the woman it came from. Believe me this NEVER stopped me from using human hair and I don't have any judgments about it. But this really speaks to me:
"I work exclusively with synthetic hair, because of ethical reasons! There are many facts and ideologies to underline this. I wrote my diploma work about hair and therefore I’m quite knowledgeable about our hair, its meaning and the stories it tells us. 60 cm of real hair lives about 10 years around and with a person. Hair is always with us. Even years later it is still possible to tell how we felt, what we consumed (drugs) and a lot of other biological facts are also still visible.
Apart from that it plays a significant role in black and white magic and in the voodoo cult. Genuine hair is available in various qualities, which can be divided into different regions, European and various Asian hair. Unfortunately trade with genuine hair is often unfair, you never know where it comes from. There are rumours that it is stolen from temples where it was used as a sacrificial offering.
Sometimes it comes from prisons and war camps, sometimes even from dead people. Hair is a dead material, dead human horn, like our fingernails. I would like to make people aware of the fact that wearing genuine hair from other people means to adorn oneself with borrowed plumes, as well as wearing somebody else’s memories. I support synthetic hair ! No it is not real and you may see this. Hair is a personal thing and not a second hand product.
You don’t pluck out a peacocks feathers!"

FinaFina - I agree. Aeone posted an article a while back at this thread (hope cutting and pasting works!) : http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/viewthread.asp?forum=AMB%5FAP934431446&id=4987&sr1=&sr2=&ExMth=no#post4987 - http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/viewthread.asp?forum=AMB%5FAP934431446&id=4987&sr1=&sr2=&ExMth=no#post4987 about how much of the GL human hair is actually a religious offering and the donor's have no idea that the hair is sold and used again. that part makes me very, very uncomfortable with choosing human hair.
-------------
|
Posted By: Jenny_RR
Date Posted: February 16 2005 at 5:49pm
Ditto. I wore human extensions for a few years, so I'm not at all judging anyone who does, but the more I read about it, the more uncomfortable I became with the idea. There's a real imperialism about the trade--i.e., women from third-world countries selling their hair for pennies or nothing so that U.S. and European women can wear it--that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I hope this synth switch will be permanent, because I really don't want to contribute to that sort of thing, either. :)

As far as the human hair thing goes, I do know that the dead-hair-collection thing is a myth. Hair is not cut off of dead people. Hair may be from someone who is currently dead- as in, they cut their hair off before they died- but that's as close as it gets. Of course you can't prove a negative, so I can't prove it never happens, but too many cultures have a profound respect for the material state of the deceased, and there are too many live women in third-world countries willing to sell their hair, for me to believe that commercial hair commonly comes from dead people.
The other things mentioned are valid concerns, such as wearing someone else's DNA. But really, when you're wearing a wool sweater, aren't you doing the same thing?
Not saying that either point is valid or invalid; lord knows I'm a synth evangelist, and wish more people would try it. Just pointing out some logical issues with the whole human-hair-is-unethical thing. Devil's advocate and all.

With regards to the dead hair and DNA thing:
DNA is only found in the folicle tab (i.e. the root). Human hair for extensions is cut and doesn't have the tab, so you don't have to worry about Greg Sanders (CSI) pointing the finger at you. LOL
