Hi everybody
I just wanted to say that I am officially starting my search today for an extensionist to do my hair the way I want it done, using the methods I specify, using the hair I provide, all at a reasonable price considering that I am a life-long customer.
I want to thank you for your support and knowledge so that I can begin this quest appropriately armed and supported!!
I have a consultation with "Mimi" today at noon -- she's sounds like an older Jamaican lady -- she has been doing extensions for 20 years and is GL certified but not a GL-only-type (some of them are, you know, who don't know the art, just the GL training).
I will faithfully report back to my troops any and all info that I glean from this hopefully bastion of hair experience and knowledge. And of course if she isn't the one. . .I will boldly continue to go forth in search of. . .THE ONE!
Faithfully FinaFina

Funny you should ask. I grew up in Westlake. Do you know me??? Can you tell by my insanity that I'm from Cleveland??
Anyway here's my report.
The lady I went to is Queen Braid Supreme who also does fusion. I explained Shrinkies to her and she said she'd do the whole back of my head for an hourly rate. I'm gonna wait for my Shrinkies and hair to get her, do a little experimenting, then let her finish me off.
Whaddaya think?? She also said she could do microbraids for the back, but I dunno. . .it isn't pinch braiding but is microbraiding.

That's a good idea, Fina. Have someone do the back. Just be warned that the nice but ditzy girl I had do mine took 5 hours - and that was only about 3 or 4 rows in the back. No sides, no styling. I was the Mullet Queen of New Orleans. She wasn't exactly efficient or proficient, and let's face it: it's not brain surgery. Hopefully the Braid Queen will be a little more together and focused - it should only take a couple/3 hours TOPS to put shrinkies in the back. I can do a whole head of my own now in about 4 or 5, and that's with only one good eye. Be sure to take before pix!
