here is a picture of the ebonyline thermal fiber that I just got. It curled like a charm with a curling iron. This is my first attempt at posting the picture in the thread instead of posting it as a link...so lets see how it goes!

Here is another one woth the curl seperated and combed through with my fingers

That is the ebonyline thermal fiber and it does look awesome. And it isnt real shiney like some of the other synthetic hair that I have. I could seriously get this mixed up with some of my human hair!

If you check out this other thread there are alot of other thermal fiber links that we have all just started to order from and try out http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/viewthread.asp?forum=AMB_AP934431446&id=6082 - http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/viewthread.asp?forum=AMB_AP934431446&id=6082
I think the second or third page (maybe) has alot of good links
Just a note: Dont be to alarmed that the thermal fibers say they are "yaki" texture. So far all of the thermal fibers have been very soft and silky! I cant believe they call this yaki!

Thanks Sherrie for posting...

Yep, looks EXACTLY like the WaWa except it's GORGEOUS BLONDE! Yay yay yay! Hopefully it holds like the WaWa has so far. I washed again this morning and it's like butter. It's so soft and smooth.
OK, so what's the brand name of the stuff from ebonyonline?

Oh no, Fina! I think you're going to love it if you were able to get the color that you want.
I, personally, compromised on the color a little bit the first time.
Since then, I've gotten the WaWa in #27 and it's the perfect representation of strawberry blonde.
I was excited to see the color and that it curls like WaWa because WaWa doesn't come in that beautiful #613 that so many here wear. I actually like 12,14,18,22,613 for blending and then the 30 or so for undercolor.
PS: sherrie, do you have to dampen that hair or can it curl dry?

Amm I just ran my fingers under the dripping faucet and then run my wet fingers over the strand prior to curling it, so the strand was damp.
So has anyone found a 27/613 that is a side by side mix and not tipped? The one I got from ebonyline is 27/613 mixed and tipped with 613. I am not sure about using this, its pretty but...I prefer a side by side mix!

Are you talking about the piano colors(alternating colors)? If so, It's my understanding that you can only get that when you order hand-tied hair.... When you order machine-wefted hair it comes in a true mix of the two colors.

Kristin the synthetic doesnt come in hand tied wefts at all. You either get machine tied or bulk.
What I have is the top half of the weft is blended 613/27 but the bottom half is solid 613. What I want is the entire weft from top to bottom to be a blend of both colors
What Im asking is if anyone has ordered the thermal fiber in a 613/27 blend. Not tipped like I got from ebonyline.
here is a picture of the T27/613

oooh, I see what you mean. I guess what I've heard applies to human hair, and in particular the Bohyme brand. You'd think if the top half is the right mix that they'd have one that was just that solid mix....

I think we're going to be seeing a lot more of this. Here's another silky thermo fiber:

They're a bit shorter at 18" but they have piano blends/colors side by side. Nice looking choice if you're into these colors.

That's gorgeous, Sher. I love it!
Question: How does it compare with the FreeTress and with PH/Prostyles--thinner/thicker, silkier/coarser, shininess, etc., etc.

I *did* order #613 from WaWa, so I'll post it when I get it. . .in the meantime Amm thanks for the additional silky thermal fiber info!
I'm wondering if I'm even gonna put that PH in now. . .
Fina
LATER - OK I take it back. . .I ordered the 27/613 mix, and guess what, I just noticed that they've refunded by credit card meaning that they didnt' even ship it. . . ;-( Here I come ebony on line!

You're going to love that hair, Fina. I can't even begin to tell you how soft it is. Mine is still soft after a full week and I've washed at least 4 or 5 times already. It's shiny but not like Barbie Doll fake shiny.
Oh, yeah... I also ordered this just cuz: http://www.hairpiece.com/product.asp?pf_id=APE500 - http://www.hairpiece.com/product.asp?pf_id=APE500
That's the cool thing about synth. It's so inexpensive to play and experiment with.

Jenny the freetress and ebonyline comparison:
freetress: very soft&silky, a bit shiny. I think its about the same in sheen as the PH. (maybe just a bit more shine, different colors seem to shine more)
ebonyline: no shine (dull in comparison) a bit coarser feeling but still very silky looking.
So far all of the synthetics seem about the same in thickness to me. Or not much difference. Its hard for me to describe the texture, it definitely feels different than human hair. As far as looks, I think the the thermofibers that I have bought and the PH all look really soft and silky, and I dont think the average person would ever know that its not human hair.
Amm the witches broom about descibes jumbo braid perfectly! LOL. Have you ever felt that stuff? Or tried to use it? Its aweful! Other than braids I dont think it has much use. I didnt even like trying to braid with it. Its a tangled up nightmare! I had never seen any jumbo braid that can be curled before like in that link you posted. Thats a first but I still think Ill stay FAR FAR away!

I LUV EBONYONLINE!
I just ordered THREE bags of 613. . .am having it overnighted so I can have it in time to take to Atlanta with me on Thursday !!
I'm going to mix it with the #27 from Hair Sisters, perhaps a little #4 if it isn't too terribly dark, and a bit of PH here and there. . .
Oh that poor extensionist. . . she's doesn't know what she's in for!!
And yes, synth hair absolutely ROCKS because it's so inexpensive. . .I can't tell you how HARD it was every time I took out that Great Lengths hair, knowing I paid a fortune, to just see it in a pile on the floor. . .

Do you mean hairpiece.com? No, they don't say they can take heat. That's ok, though. I'm going to learn how to make clips with them.

Amm- yeah, the kanekalon jumbo braid can take heat- it likes moist heat best, bubt you can also blow-dry or flat-iron it straight.
With synth, it's important to remember that fiber and texture are two separate things. There's regular jumbo braid, which is good for nothing but braids and doesn't respond to any heat aside from melting entirely, and then there's kanekalon jumbo braid, which does respond to heat- mostly, it can be shaped with heat. That's why it's good for dread-making. (I also wore some of it as a ponytail hairpiece the other night when I was in-between extensions- I just blowdried it straight and it looked like slightly coarse normal hair.)
And then there's kanekalon silky, which is both straight texture and heat-styleable, and also that KK silky wave stuff from hairpiece, which is the same thing with a wave texture. And then there's monofiber, which is finer and softer and also blowdry and flat-iron-able. Dunno about curling irons yet; I'll check that in a few days, but I would assume those are okay too.
