Sorry, Kalika. Bleach is evil, evil stuff. Did you bleach it a few times in the same day, or was it all from one application? Anyway, do you have anything in mind, wig-wise? Me and it seems many of us who love to play with our hair so much tend to do more damage than good sometimes - doesn't it? I am learning finally(now at 34) to leave the heavy stuff to the pros. What ever wig you decide to get it will look beautiful  Do you have any wigs to wear in the meantime?------------- |

I dont know what happened. I bleached out the roots, like I normally do, and I was so careful not to overlap. I used a 20 volume developer and left it on for 30 minutes, then washed it out. hair came with it. I have no clue why it did that. I never had a problem with bleach untill the last 2 times I did it. I used a new bleach the last 2 times I never tried before, thats the only thing I can think of. ------------- |

Awful...I've been there so many times, I too was once a bleach addict, I burnt of all my hair on the front of my head and the rest all snapped off and I too resorted to shaving my head and wearing a wig and it worked a treat, I could change my wig at the drop of a hat and it was fun and also there are some super nice wigs out there. 2 years on and my hair is thick and healthy and shoulder length and Ive only ever highlighted once and I can now say that I am off the bleach forever. the boyfriend is taking me wig shopping later. I will probably shave a mohawk first just to play with it. if I do i'll take pics. I like being silly  (edit) ohoh I do have a couple questions. when I go bald, how will I attach the wig? toupee tape? if so will it be itchy? how good will it stay? I dont want it to fall off when I dance and what do I do once the hair starts growing? when its too long fo rtape but too short for clips/pins? ------------- |

You can sew wig clips (the same kind of clips they use on cliip-in extensions) into the hairline of your wig. Those are pretty good at grabbing hair by the roots, and will work on hair an inch long, maybe less. I guess toupee/wig tape should work- I also have a friend who uses spirit gum on her head (she shaves her head, and glues on various mohawk-type hairpieces). -Rae ------------- http://www.hairalchemy.net - Hair Alchemy |

Yeah, Kim: They're superglam, although I'm sure Kalika would look gorgeous with any hair, come to think of it. I love that wig, Sherrie; it looks so natural. My only concern about the ones I posted (with no bangs) is that they don't really work without a lacefront. I bought something similar myself (long, big, Vegas hair), and it just didn't work, unfortunately. Ummm. Just a thought. Maybe I'm out of line here, but won't the weight of the long hair pull it off her head? I'd give each one a really good head flip when trying on, just to make sure. Found this on a website. I hope it helps. How do I get the Wig to fit ? A wig that fits properly will be comfortable and secure, and the owner will forget she is wearing a wig. The front of the wig should be worn on the natural hairline, which is 4 fingers above the eyebrows. The back of the wig should be pulled down to the natural hairline in the back. The wig should be comfortably tight at the back hairline to prevent the wig from slipping up and over the occipital bone. Level the wig on front by pulling the temple tabs (rounded points) to the temples. There is a small wire in each temple tab that can be contoured, rounded, inward so the wig will not protrude out in front of the ears. (I raise my margarita glass and toast your bravery.) |

Kalika, I dont post very often, and I actually dont think ive posted ever in the hair extension forum (even though I'm a long-time lurker, who just bought some wa wa hair and is doing the extension thing this weekend!) I just wanted to say that you look awesome with the 'hawk!! I really think why cover up such outrageously adorable look with a wig? I agree with everybody a. you are gonna look fab regardless b. takes bravery to go long to short (esp soooo long to sooo short) this, to me, is the part that is so exciting and freeing about not being afraid to screw around with your own hair (with some helpful guidance, ahem). the thing that is great is i think some people with think having to go short is a tragedy, but look at you....short, mohawk, wigs, extensions. you can really do whatever you want without being attached. i think, when i talk about extensions etc at work people have the misconception i'm only wanting long hair...but in reality CHANGE IS GOOD. being afraid of that is why 80% of people, imo, have the same haircut that looked good for them 20 yrs ago. this whole board has helped me realize...purple hair one day, mohawk one day, hair to bum length...all possible... you go kalika! ------------- |

Kalika, just a thought here, maybe your extensions stressed your own hair too much and the bleach snapped it off because it was too weak to withstand the application??? For bleaching, I use maji meche, it's amonia free and is very gentle on the hair You look fab w/the hawk girl! & I'm sorry you had this happen. (((huggies))))) ------------- It is what it is... |

WOW!!! Looks good! I thought you were going for a Sinead O'Connor buzz, but this is a sexy Amy Lennox look! Have fun with it! I remember a gal who'd get her 2" hair colored/bleached a silvery blonde, them pommaded (spelling?) it into a slightly spikey do. Some how she made it look like liquid silver. IT WAS THE BOMB!!!!!! I too love tequila (Gold, of course.). But after a few too many, I start doing it "Caddyshack style". Snort the salt, eat the lime and throw the shot over the shoulder.

aww you look so cute and cool! I feel for you I really do. After my extensions this past weekend long story short things didn't go to plan and i ended up with a buzz cut grrr. I agree with the other poster hehe I have had a buzz cut how many times cause of hair disasters and checmical haircuts with bleaching disasters. Im now going to look into learning how to make my own lace fronts so if I want to be a platinum blonde i will glue it on lol not extensions lace fronts. My poor hair never had a chance with my crazed addiction of changing my look every time the wind blows another direction. Nope going to grow my hair long and never touch it again ever lmao. It's wigs from here on out lol. Miss Wiggy Charzbella.
