I think I want a wig. Who on this board wears them and how do you attach them? My daughter irish step dances and wears a full curly wig, it takes us about 40 minutes just to try and conect it. is there a easier way with short hair. I would like to wear it and not worry about it blowing off when I drive around. - once the weather turns warm again. :) it would be curly, - I am missing really brushing my real hair out. and hubby is starting to freak over the stray hairs that seem to be everywhere. I cannot blame it on the dogs anymore. Octavia

Ive worn wigs for years. I dont "attach" them other than to tighten the straps on the back. I always wear a wig cap and in Colorado we have very windy weather, and Ive not lost one yet.
For your daughters: how do you attach it now? My only recommendation is wig clips.

I've seen recommendations of using hairpins to weave together the wig and the hair layer underneath.

my daughter is 8 with hair a bit past her shoulders. we put it in a bun - her real hair and then tighten wig around head, and bobby pin it everywhich way, they need to do ALOT of jumping, and wobbly wigs are a no no! as for me, it isn't windy here, I drive a conv. any suggestions on real or synth? I have spent SOOO much money on this hair thing, that I am leaning towards synth. how does a 3/4 wig work? I have fairly short hair about 2 inches on top, and what is the difference between skin and no skin? Thanks Octavia

I dont know if wigs and convertibles are very compatible maybe someone else will have some other ideas.
I would consider sewing wig clips into your daughters hair piece, they are more stable than bobby pins, IMO.
Real or synth: Ive had both. Its just your preference, human hair wigs you can curl and style more than synth.
3/4: I dont think 2 inches is enough for a 3/4. To wear it you have to be able to brush your hair over where the wig ends to hide it.
Skin or no skin: that just means if it has a part or not. Like the pic below. I usually get a wig with a skin part, they are more natural looking and so far people are amazed when they find out Im wearing a wig. Sometimes Ill tell people Im wearing one just to see their reaction...lol..

WOW - that is a wig? very cool. I was thinking maybe a wig that I pull my natural hair through and then I can add a couple of shrinkies, to attach the whole thing. I could remove them every couple of days or even daily. Hmmm, off to look for a wig. Octavia

This is kind of funny, but my head is apparently smaller than average in size, and therefore most wigs are too big for me. In general, most wigs are sized with a 22" circumference. I think my head measures 21 1/4"
Anyway, I have sewn the toupee clips to the underside of the wigs and that holds it on very well. I gone dancing with wigs attached like this and have had no problems.
