I have really enjoyed this site since I found it last week...to the point I'm sitting here reading each night when I really should be sleeping.
Your collective knowledge and willingness to share is just what needed.
Kristin; Your sister's gallery picture on your website is inspirational. You blended her hair so undetectably and the color is great!
Jenny; Your synthetic hair pictures + reviews have convinced me to try. I could tell from your postings you are sharp, and after trying to order from the Plastikhaar website I've decided you must be a rocket scientist. I'm having a hard time finding anything other than purple or blue from PH...not that those are bad colors...just not for a midwest middle-aged (well, slightly over) mother of 3. Where are most of you ordering your synthetic?
Thanks for your time.

Delin, the plastikhaar website can be hard to navigate. You want http://plastikhaar.ch/wholesale/index.php?cPath=25_31 - http://plastikhaar.ch/wholesale/index.php?cPath=25_31
for the selection of natural colors.

Plastikhaar has natural colors too. But you can also get natural colors from Dome and ProStyles.

Hey Delin,

Welcome!

No one knows how to use the PH site until they ask--lol! Basically, you have to get into the wholesale part of the site to buy the monofiber (Leia just pasted the link above). Keep in mind that Sara (PH) also sells jumbo braid, but what you want is the monofiber. The colors can be a bit deceiving on screen, so be sure to ask around on the board before you select a shade (a few of us have color rings--not me yet, but soon--and can help).

As Julie mentioned, you can also buy from Dome. However, it is more expensive, especially for shipping. If you're a stylist, you can buy from ProStyles, but they don't sell to the public actually. I went with a Dome/PH combo, simply because Dome has one color I really needed that PH doesn't have (which is ironic, given that PH has many more colors to choose from).

I'm glad you're optimitstic about synth; I am, too. I'm having a lot more fun with this hair than I ever had with human.

Good luck, and keep us posted!

:)

Thanks very much for the link...now that's more like it, but those names... I'm wanting shades of brown ranging from Dark Golden Brown to light and a highlight blonde shade.
I apologize if I'm making you repeat yourself...but does this come on a weft or is this bulk. I've never made tips before but read the how-to on Kristin's site. I'm assuming liquid gold will work on synthetic? Any problems doing the shrinkies or is this better suited for micro-links? Thanks for your time.

For shades of brown, I can't really help you, although I'm sure others will chime in. Do you know the number of the colors you usually use? You might want to check out some of Fina's posts, since she ordered the PH in a few shades of brown, I believe.

Generally, PH comes in bulk, although you can special-order wefts (you do have to order a fair amount of hair for that, though; I forget how many meters, but the option is somewhere in Sara's store).

Liquid gold will work fine on synthetic.

You can use the hair with shrinkes or extendtubes (rings); either should be fine.

Good luck! :)
