has anyone ever worn one of those falls attached to a headband, like this?

I have, and they can look very good, although I've had more luck just buying the 3/4 falls and wearing my own headband with them (I have a, um, large-size head, and sometimes those headbands aren't quite big enough and end up being kind of tight--like an instant face-lift or something). I've bought the Holly and Donata 3/4s from IW, among others, and I quite like both of those. I've never ordered the Renau brand, though.

The standard 3/4 falls also give you a little more flexibility in terms of placement, imo. Usually with the headband wigs, at least the soft-headband ones, you need to put all your hair up underneath because the band goes underneath, and if you wore your own long hair down, it'd be going every which way; with the standard 3/4, you can wear all your hair down. So, perhaps the headband type is better if you have short hair; if it's longer, you may want to opt for the basic 3/4.

As far as comfort, as long as the headband wig fits you right, it's quite comfortable since there are no clips or combs or anything hard in them. The basic 3/4s usually come with combs, which are relatively comfortable, but will put a bit of stress on your real hair where they attach. This isn't really an issue unless you plan to wear them every day.

:)

Ditto what Jenny said, Ive also tried the soft head band wigs and they were too tight. I cant wear a 3/4 because my hair is too thin on top to cover so I wear a full.

Oh I love them. One of my faves was reversible, one way it was one length bra strap. The other way, long and layered. It was what started my love affair with fake hair!! Noone ever knew they weren't mine. Unless they were really good at faking the shock

Oh, I LOVE reversible falls and ponytails! You get two looks for the price of one (and twice the chance that you'll like the look). All the pieces I've gotten have been layered incredibly well, too. :)

Jenny - you are right about the versatility of the 3/4 falls versus the headband ones. THe idea of the headbands appealed to me because I know the combs on some of those falls can be uncomfortable.
