I thought this would be a good thread to start on comparing company products or finding products that are very similar and for maybe 1/2 the price. This thread was inspired by the girls at BHM Forum. Thank you for the idea girls.......let's share our findings so we can be more money sauvy!! Biosilk Silk Therapy vs Generic Value Products Silk Treatment (the brand Sally's carries that touts itself as the Biosilk equivilent) I have both. The ingredients read exactly the same and are in the same listed order. The fragrance is almost identical. Generic got close but it's just a little thinner and doesn't absorb quite as nicely as Biosilk. I put equal glops in the palm of my hand and turned it sideways. The Generic ran down my hand faster. If you're on a budget, go with the Generic. It's pretty darn close. Amm, have you actually tried the generic BioSilk on your hair yet? It made mine sticky, like mousse, which the real stuff never did. I hated it, and returned it to Sally's. Of course, that's just my own experience. If you like it, then yes, the generic is waaaaay cheaper. ------------- |

Wait a freakin' minute here....$3500 for a WIG?! $4000 for a dreadlock WIG?! They can't be serious! You can get a custom made wig for much less than that! That is absolutely insane! But to stay on topic...yes - we definitely should post comparisons when we run across them. But I think the board has been doing a fantastic job lately of posting links to all kinds of helpful and amazing things. Good work, girls! I still can't get over it. Four large for a wig. |

great thread! BTW - May I recommend not buying a wig online untill you try a comparable wig on at a shop or something beforehand. When I went to try on wigs at this local shop the ones I thought would look amazing on me looked like poo, and after trying on over 12 (bless the sale lady's heart) I ended up buying one I didnt think Id like in the first place, and it was only a little over $20 - I sewed on a wig clip in the front and its perfect. And another thing, some of those lace fronts look like normal hairlines with a bit of lace thrown in - not nearly as professional a job for the price theyre asking for. And with diffrent sellers selling diffrent quality products using the same pics, be careful and buy from a reputable seller. ... shoot, how corrupted is the hair industry anyway, buying a good quality wig thats worth the price is like trying to buy good quality human hair

I bought it and HAARHAARHAHAHA……..my hubby laughed his head off when he saw it on my head!! Really crappy looking….no custom cut was gonna save this one!! Emma got a much nicer wig from this company. This wig was a total mess!! If I go with a lace front it will be custom made for me. I am just sick of having damn ugly hair. Not sure if I should go this route or more extensions. You are so right about beyonce's lace fronts……you would think mama could hide that a little more. That’s what makes me nervous to shave my hairline if you can still see the lace. I will probably go with an extra fine Swiss lace front if it comes down to that. Miamigirl had just ran into the same issues with her one and ended up cutting in bangs to cover it up. AGHH.....still nothing!! |
