I see lace fronts everywhere on BHF...but HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO ATTACH THEM? can you swim in them? is your hair loose or braided underneath?? WHAT IS THE MYSTERY?!?! If anyone has had them, please tell me everything you know.

I've been wondering about lace-fronts, too. My stylist actually makes them, so I've seen them up close (on mannequins and wig forms), and they're incredibly natural looking. I believe they're attached in front (the lace part) with an adhesive.

I'm just not sure if they'd work if you already have a headful of long, thick extensions. I would imagine (and I could be wrong about this), that all your hair underneath would have to be braided up or contained in a wig cap. I don't think you'd be able to leave your hair down and wear one, but again, I could be wrong.

Beyond that, the secrets seem to be--just based on what I've read, not my own experience, lol--doing some styling, cutting, and even color after you get the wig, which makes a lot of sense.

My other hesitation is price. As I understand it, lace-fronts are quite expensive, although I've seen a pretty amazing range (from a few hundred to a few thousand). But if it looks great and you get a lot of use out of it, it may be definitely worth it. Extensions are pretty expensive, too.

:)
