I was about to dye my hair and realized I still had my single streak of Plastikhaar in. I wanted to remove it so I didn't have a little band of a different color when I took the shrinkie out (nevermind that I ended up with a tie-dyed streak---that's another story). I was too lazy to go get the skinny flatiron I use for shrinkies so I plugged in my regular two inch wide one and turned it up to high.

I bet you know where this story is going......

I clamped it on the shrinkie for a few seconds and pulled the PH out. The top inch of it was a flat, perfectly melted bit of plastic. Oh well, I wasn't going to reuse it anyway. So I guess PH would be great for heat-seals. It melts nicely without burning or warping.

I guess for synth and shrinkies, I either need to fork out the money for a real heat clamp or be very careful with my skinny flatiron.

No worries. It didn't hurt my real hair one bit. It was just hot enough to melt the PH. I thought it was too funny.
