| I have very sensitive skin (I am even allergic to Mary Kay) and it is somewhat of a problem when it comes to blemishes. Has anyone tried, or know anything about Burt's Bees line of skin care products. I would like to try an all natural solution, as I use only herbal remedies for illnesses etc. I read all the stuff on the website, but of course they aren't going to tell you if there are some bad aspects to using it. Any info on Burt's Bees would be awesome. |

Hey there! I've tried Burts Bees' products in the past and I've found many of their products to be really irritating to my skin. While it does seem nice to be using all-natural products on our skin, we have to understand that there are ALOT of natural ingredients out there that have been shown to really irritate and damage skin, for instance Menthol and Camphor. I've been fighting acne for 7 years. I suggest you check out Paula Begoun's website and what she has to say about Burt's Bees. Howe |

Thers not really too much advice on Paula's website, I think its there more to sell products she endorses. I would suggest reading her book Don't Go To The Cosmetics Counter Without Me. It was verry helpful to me. I'm lookin in there now, and alot of the burts bee's skin care products have some natural ingredients that cause skin sensitivity, and irritation. If I were you I would go to the library and see if they have the book and read it. It rates each product individually. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

Burts Bees is a very interesting company and there products are quite fabulous. The company started with the original Burt of Burt's Bees. Burt started tending his own bee hives in 1969. Soon after, he was selling honey on the roadside and expanded into earth friendly natural personal care products for everyone. Over the years since 1969 the products have evolved and some of them are no long 100% all natural. However, many are in the 92-99% all natural range and have minimal chemical ingredients. I personally have used the entire line from the body lotions to the makeup and the skin care. If anyone has a question on a specific product I will be happy to share my own personal experiences. HairBoutique.com does carry most of Burts Bees products, and has for over 5 years, but we do not carry some of the makeup. That is because it is harder to sell makeup over the Internet. I have used the lipsticks and they are nice. I also have several products that I use all the time like the lip balms which are incredible and the Milk & Honey which has a divine aroma and really softens my skin. However, some of the products do have some chemicals that might not work for some folks with very sensitive skin. I would suspect that everything would need to be taken on a case by case basis. I know this thread is old buuutttt......I love, love, love Burt's Bees. My skin
has gotten pretty oily the past few years. I used to tan a lot and my face suffered. I've tried all sorts of products and Burt's Tomato soap and toner has worked really well I like how my face looks. other then mascara, I don't wear make-up. I don't really have issues with sensative skin, so I don't know about that, sorry I would try it. ~side note: I also really enjoy their lip balm, it's yummy |

I've been thinking about trying their lip balm. I currently use Neutrogena's lip balm and it's kind of greasy and doesn't quite hug your lips. Does Burt's Bees have more of a matte finish? I'm looking for something I can wear everyday that gives me a little color and also stays put. ------------- Follow Your Bliss |
