I just got the pink shoes to go with that dress. And they are gorgeous! But what's even better is that they're comfortable. Even without hose. Here's the Q: are hose mandatory for a black tie evening affair? I may just skip them if etiquette so dictates! Thanks! Elissa -------------  [/url]

Personally, I almost NEVER wear hose. I can't remember the last time I wore hose. I'm sure there was a time when you would never think to go to a black tie affair without hose on, but I'm pretty sure those days are over. Someone's grandmother might look at you funny if she notices, but old ladies usually can't see that well, so I think you're clear.  ------------- "Hair is a part of you. SG, you're so funny.   You're right, I think times have changed. The shoes are so pretty I don't want to muck them up with all of that synthetic yuck. However, I am so white (and a little bit spider veiny) so I would feel a bit naked without hose. I guess if I go with the hose I'll get sandalfoot. Thanks for all of the terrific advice.
