Hi Everyone
I have hair just like Calista Flockhart aka Ally McBeal. I would like to put waves in my hair the way she did, but I don't want a perm. Is there any way to get the look, even if only for a once-off special occasion like my wedding? I would really appreciate a reply soon janine

I read the glossies obsessively, so that I might live vicariously through Catherine Zeta Jones, and it is because of this fixation I can share with you.....
Ally's Oomphed-Up Mane (From the April issue of Cosmo, page 106)
How did naturally stringy-stranded starlet Calista Flockhart get such unbelievably thick tresses all of a sudden? Los Angeles hairstylist Peter Savic, who worked this hair magic on her, gives us the scoop:
* Apply a dollop of thickening cream to towel-dried hair, then blow straight with a large round brush. Try Redken Thickening Lotion, $9.
* Once hair is dry, work a quarter-size dab of soft-hold gel from roots to ends. Try Redken Contour Shaping Lotion, $8.
* To get Calista's undone-but-full-of-volume look, use a medium-size curling iron. Wrap some sections around it in a loose spiral so you can see the barrel peeking through, then wrap others around it in a tighter twist so that no metal shows. Finally, pull waves apart with fingers, then spritz hair with hair spray. Try Paul Mitchell Super Clean Extra, $9.
(There's a before-and-after picture, too.)
Cheers! The Other Ally
