I think it's a shame that WB is forcing Keri to grow out her hair so militantly. When she cut it, I figured she would probably end up growing it back out, but I had thought that she would look great with a bluntly cut curly bob just above her chin. The style she's wearing now just looks like the style she had when she cut it, grown out for a year (which is precisely what it is, anyway). Instead of forcing her to grow back her long hair right away, they should have taken advantage of the growing period and maybe give her some style. If I were watching Felicity purely for her hair, I think I'd rather see her wearing some cute shorter styles on her path to long hair, rather than sit through a period of horrible shortlongs merely to get back to boring long hair sooner.
Another point - what makes WB so certain that it was her hair that lost all their viewers?? I would think, if anything, MORE people would want to watch to see what she had done to herself. As I recall, they had started last season off with a new timeslot - did it ever cross their minds that maybe THAT caused the loss of viewers? Are we viewers so lame that we only watch a show to see the same old boring curly hair week after week? If fans loved her hair that much, why not just videotape an episode, and watch it again and again.

Have you addressed your concerns to the Felicity producers? If there is such a militant stand, I'm sure it is due to the response the producers received from a majority of the show's viewers who took the time to write. Keri Russell and her show have received a bevy of publicity over her haircut. They no doubt know what works and what doesn't based on the response. You know where I stand.

Gord,

Of course we know where you stand...it is on the beyond floor length hair of your significant other! ;)

Seriously though, if you have ever taken a course in statistics, there isone thing that is taught:

Correlation is not Causation.

Meaning that the show's ratings did not necessarily go down because Keri cut her hair. I also believe that other shows have managed to suffer the horrific loss of one stars or another beloved tresses! Look at 90210 or Melrose, when leading ladies chopped their hair off, there was no outcry, no banning of haircuts, and no drop in the ratings! The WB used the Russell incident to create publicity. Anyways, Keri LIKE IT SHORT!
