I was wondering if anyone is familiar with this funny little comb-razor thingy that hairdressers use when cutting short hair. I was practilly horrified speechless when the hairdresser whipped this apparatus out and started going to town on my hair ends with it. Youch! I could almost feel it! So my concern is, will these ends be more prone to splits than those cut with a regular scissors??? Should I have someone trim the ends before I start letting it grow????

Hi, razoring just makes the ends neater, I think. If your trying to let it grow I suggest you just trim it. :|

It depends. I have my hair cut with a razor, but not just the ends. My hair is a few inches past my chin in the back and angles around my face in the front. My hair dresser uses a razor to give my hair a more "rounded" look. I love it ,it looks awesome. (And i am growing my hair longer too.)
However, if you have a major razor haircut (I just get some texture, I guess it`s called , after she cuts with the scissors) and you want to grow it out, I would probably get the ends trimmed blunt.
Personally, I would have it done before my hair got too long. Just b/c I wouldn`t want to grow it to have everything I grew cut off. I`d rather have it shorter now so it could grow out the way I want it.
