can it or not ? cause I have split ends (I think how can you tell) and also how long are they likely to be cause when I go to the hairderessers and ask them to trim split ends they trim off like 1 1/2 inhes and it takes ages again to grow back. also how can i reduce split ends ?

hi kitty.yes, hair can grow wit split ends....but you might as well be growing a head full of crazy straw hair! a split end keeps on splitting up the strand, and its actually a bad thing if u have really long hair, cuz then you grew it out for nothing! when u go to get them trimmed then, like u said, you`ll have to get off 1 - 1/2". i would recommend conditioning your ends frequently. if you hair is straight/fine/thin..use a lighter conditioner and only condition once to twice a week. if wavy or curly, every time or every other time you shampoo. also, take a look at how you brush your hair. do u rip thru it? for tangles..start at the nape of your neck and workup and around your head. always start at the ends of the hair and work your way up the hair strands. never start at the roots and rip your way down when untangling. also, watch out for hairbands that have no cloth or coating on them and those metal pieces. they can treat hair roughtly in general.
