I saw the movie A Beautiful Mind today and was impressed with several of Jennifer Connelly`s (plays the love interest & wife) hairdos. Since this movie was based on true events the movie had to portray hair from the period that the film covered (1947 - 1994). She wears a French Twist in an early scene that I thought looked very well done. The makeup, in my opinion, is incredible the way they age Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly during a 40+ year time period.

She was on Letterman last night and mentioned in passing that she spend lots of time under the ol` big bonnet hairdryer for her part. She has naturally straight hair and for her character in the movie she waves/curls. So, after they put her hair up in rollers and pincurls she`d pass the time under the dryer doing curls with the 5lb weights she swiped from Russell Crowe`s trailer. =)
And, as a pointless side note, whether she is wearing the waves of "A Beautiful Mind" or her natural long straight style, Jennifer is a stunningly attractive woman. And that`s not just my thing for brunettes talking. =)

Hi JF,
Ahhhhh. Thanks for the scoop on Jennifer and her hair. I can see why she had to do the big bonnet hairdryer trip. She has that loose 60s curl going in a couple of scenes and there is no other way to get those type of curls without the big rolelrs and the bonnet time. However, I would definitely be too lazy to do curls with weight under a dryer. I would be chatting or posting on hair websites myself. :-)
Yes, Jennifer is definitely beautiful and they did a fabulous job of making her look stunning even after adding gray hair and wrinkles.
Now JF tell me what you think of Penelope Cruz and her hair? I saw her in Vanilla Sky with that guy named Tom something (LOL) and her hair was glossy and shiny. Long and softly curly.
Let me know if you hear anything about her hair for that movie.

Have any of you seen "The Labyrinth"? It`s from the `80s, and Jennifer plays a teenager. I was sitting watching "A Beautiful Mind," and I was just like, "Oh my god! that`s her!" I really love how she curls her hair. It must be a pain to have had to sit under the hair dryer so often though!

Hair: It can make you happy, it can make you sad, but mostly it just allows you to spend some quality time with your mirror. :-)

Hi,
No...I did not see The Labyrinth. I did see her in a movie..name escapes me...where she works in a used car lot as the shy office girl in a small town. I don`t remember much besides that. It will be interesting to see how she does now that she is nominated officially for Best Supporting Actress for the Oscars. I think she has some pretty steep competition in the category.
Best wishes, Karen
