i just got back from voting it felt real good.....regardless of the outcome at least i know i did my part if a million people say its only one vote and its not gonna make a difference, it all adds up, and that can be the difference in the election....so if u aint vote yet, why not go now? dont procrastinate - (UNDER 18) look in the mirror...put down the brush for a sec ask yourself....Did u encourage family or friends over 18 to vote? I voted on Monday and was a little disappointed to see that only old Republicans were at the polling station. My sister and mother went this morning and my sister told me that most of the people in line at 6:30 am were black people under 25. There were some stations in South Atlanta aka Tha Hood were people camped out the night before so they could vote. I'm proud of the campaign because alot of people did get tired of hearing and they actually looked into the matter. I also hope that if Kerry wins that people don't think that things are going to change instantly because the problems that Bush has caused are going to still be around for a while. | Actually the abortion debate has been hot for many years it only comes to a boil around election time. When I cast my ballot yesterday I voted against the constitutional ammendment to make marriage a union of only a man and a woman. We seperated church and state earlier in the constitution so I don't see why this is even an issue. |

I voted this morn' 6:05am....The issue on marriage isn't related to the church as far as the seperation between church and state...the issue is centered around what is marriage and what can it be. So the change would ensure that marriage is between a man and a women. Kerry doesn't believe in gay marriage but believes that gay couples should have certain "spouse" rights(insurance, ability to handle arrangements of deceased loved ones, access to "spouse" information, etc.) Kerry also mentioned that even though he is a catholic, that doesn't mean that he should push his beliefs on everyone else. I don't care one way or another...I can't judge someone. Personally I don't believe in homosexuality, but that's just me. The ammendment won't make that big of a difference because each state will do what it wants regardless of federal law. I'm totally against the ammendment. That is a direct obstruction of my inalienable right to the pursuit of happiness. I don't think that anyone is truly indifferent to the ammendment. Yeah I voted this morning, the pools opened at 7:00 am, but me and moms was there at 6:45 am. If you think about it this is the biggest election ever cuz think about, this is a wave board and we're actually talking about the election in a informative way and not just people saying hell naw ***** I didn't vote today, I was to busy or what have you. Mad props to everybody that got out there and voted today, because if we keep complaining and make no effort to do nothing about, then we r just contributing to the problem. To those that didn't vote I reallry wish that you had, u can go on thinking that your vote will mean nothing but the candidates think other wise, that's why they spend millions of dollars campaigning trying to when your votes, because that's how important your vote trully is. Just think about how many votes you can add to the election if you just holla at ya boys and be an informant to them about the election, they may not be feeling all of these commercials and everybody else telling them that they need to vote, but since yall boys and are on a higher level, they'll more than likely feel you and your position on the election. Again mad props to those that did and those that didn't wish that you recognize the power of your vote in the future. I feel you on that zero, tellin a friend really helps. I called all my friends today and made sure they voted. Honestly for anyone that's like 40 or older elections don't really matter. Issues like privatizing social security, gay marriage, and the price of education means nothing to them but it's big to 20 million new people that are going to vote this year. I just hope that they were informed before they went to the polls. Voting for whomever just becuase it's who everyone else was voting for is just as bad as not voting. Vote, but vote with knowledge. On a similar note, my room mate said that if Kerry wins she's moving to Africa. At the time they did the first draft they used men, women did not work well (white women didnt work while black women were in the fields and among other things) Women wanted equal opportunity and now we got them I don't want to be drafted! You need to read 1800FabFlow's response....Every vote counts regardless of the outcome...If we don't vote the republicans will control the government forever. Because the bourgeoisie white class will vote and vote strong. This is for everbody: But...if Bush does win and the republicans control the house....in 2008 if America is still in the mess it's in the republicans will only have themselves to blame(because they will control everything). No blaming the Clinton administration...no blaming the Democrats. I'm glad that we had more American's to vote, that means that change is coming but it doesn't happen over night. We need more Black interest in politics...I'm sure most of you saw that alot of the positions at the local level(judges, commissioners)weren't contested. If a black person had just ran for some of our local offices they would have won because no one else ran. We shouldn't bash puffy for trying to get people to vote. If your going to be mad at him for that then you should be mad at other music icons for trying to get black people to buy into this idea that our women are only sex symbols, that the only thing they can sell to our people is cars, jewelry, alcohol and drugs. Every music video you see now is talking about sex, money and alcohol. I'm not downing music..becuase I love music...i'm a keyboard player myself and I haven't heard a beat that I didn't like...it's just the message that is sent to our people that I don't like...but i'm sick of our people thinking that they can't be more than what they are....why aren't rappers rapping about getting an education...taking over the city government...there was a town that the mayor retired and no one else ran for office...I'm sure the black people there could have benefitted from a black mayor. Sorry for the long post but I had to get that off my chest...I hope kerry and edwards stand strong on the Ohio issue, you never know what can happen.
