I looked for a previous post on this board but could not find one regarding Rachel after I saw Matrix Revolutions this past weekend. I also searched the web and could only find this on the official Matrix website (it's an interview with the head hairstylist for the movie):

MATRIX: Have their been any extreme changes in hair from the natural state to the character state?

JUDITH: Rachel Blackman who plays Charra came to us a few months ago with hair on her shoulders. They’ve been training her, and she has been working out, so we have been talking about her ‘do, and all of a sudden it was decided that her hair was going to be cut really short. I started cutting it short, and it got shorter and shorter, and every time we’d go to show Andy and Larry they would ask for it to be a little shorter. So this poor girl who had hair on her shoulders is now running around town with what we call a number 2 blade haircut. She’s totally faded up on the sides and she has quarter inch hair on top. It’s a really tough one for her to feel comfortable in… we’ve done a lot of people who wear hats around town. The hairstyle made quite a change in her character, and she’s beautiful girl with a great face and great eyes, so it looks good on her, but it’s tough to make that big a change in yourself.

I thought she looked great in the movie but would love to see some before and after photos.

There is a long-standing tenet for actors and that's do whatever they ask of you in a role. Most women wouldn't agree with doing this, but the odds are so far against an actress landing a part. Now when an actress like Miss Blackman has no screen credits and lands a part in one of the biggest motion pictures of the year, she should thank her lucky stars. And if the directors think this is what works, they're probably right.

I'm not really up on The Matrix but is it correct that this chick's hair is always short in the movie? I ran a search on her on-line and didn't come up with any acting credits other than the second and third Matrix movies. So I don't think we'll get a chance to see any before and after shots. The picture on the Matrix website appears to have been taken when she still had hair though. I haven't seen any pictures of her from in the movie though. Does anyone have any links for that?
