I think she looks more fun with shorter, flippier hair. . . which is probably why she's been using the long, straight, serious hair lately for the serious parts.

Oddly, Sally Struthers actually looks more like Jackie Kallen (the woman the Meg Ryan character is based on) than Meg does. (Although Meg's inflated lips do look more like Jackie's.)
