Looks to me as though she has gone much lighter since Athens.

Maybe I'm the only one on the planet, but IMO it's just a little too blonde. Love the length & style (yeah, I'll probably get bashed for that too), but it needs a little more red or brown in it.

Frankly, I think she also needs some serious help from her makeup artist. Even with the tan from Athens, her face looks really washed out, especially with the blonde hair, and the dark eye makeup looks almost cartoonish.

I thought she looked so good that I taped parts of today's Today Show, just in case Katie decides to go back to some style of days gone by. I wouldn't have a problem is she toned down the blonde, but I don't have a problem if she keeps it either. I think she looks really comfortable with the length and style.

Here's a side shot from today: http://www.gogomag.com/cgi-bin/tvheads_viewer.pl?tvheads17009&17009&Katie - http://www.gogomag.com/cgi-bin/tvheads_viewer.pl?tvheads17009&17009&Katie

Ann Curry also looked better than ever -- in the first hour or two of the show. Toward the end, she went back to the unkempt look.

I like it!: http://www.gogomag.com/cgi-bin/tvheads_viewer.pl?tvheads17010&17010&Ann - http://www.gogomag.com/cgi-bin/tvheads_viewer.pl?tvheads17010&17010&Ann

Well, I don't have much of an opinon on the blondeness but I tend to not like it so much. I also think Katie looks a little too tan. But the main thing I notice right now is how long her hair is. I don't think she has worn it this long since she came on the Today show. Every week I half expect to see her show up with a big trim.

Well, that didn't take long after my post.

Katie trimmed several inches off (3 inches?). It's not a major haircut, but it's right at her shoulders and all one length basically. Before she had some much longer layers. I guess it's okay but I liked the longer hair better.

Yes the beautiful Ms. Couric did have a few inches trimmed off. Either way it does look nice and we all know she looks good with short, long, dark, blonde!!!

I'm glad I wasn't the first to post that she looked better with longer hair. The longer hair wasn't the Katie we've all known over the past few years (since she became the hair transformation of the 21st century). It was over the top; made her look great. I don't want to be melodramatic about this because stars' hair comes and goes, but the trim is kind of boring. When I tuned into the show this morning, Katie seemed to want to show everyone that her hair was shorter, flipping it from side to side. I wonder if the Today Show's study groups discovered that America likes Katie best with shorter hair. I'm glad I taped her last show because I'm not sure I'll ever see it that long again.

God forbid that any TV anchor project sexiness through flowing hair. She's probably more comfortable (and popular with other women) wearing this boring look. Ann Curry will probably soon receive marching orders to "update" her hot hairstyle and reassume her trademark "professional" coif. Bob

Did Katie actually mention her haircut on air? I'm not sure that her trim was quite a big enough change to expect her to mention it on air. I never really got a good look at the back either.

Anyone else think 3 inches is about right or perhaps that's overstating it a bit?

It was at least 3 inches. I was thinking more. What percentage of haircut must there be for a trim to be considered a haircut? LOL. I think it changed her appearance dramatically, making it a haircut, not a trim!

Over a weekend, she went from sexy to perky again. Perky... or typical.

Certainly a step in the right direction...if she'd only take off that much again in a few days...

Now if only Ann Curry would follow suit....

What the heck, Soledad O'brien and Campbell Brown too...

My two cents.

Thumbs down to Katies trim. To me an inch is a trim anything over is a cut. Grow back her longer length. Ann,fantastic longer it gets the better she looks even she looks good anyway. Solidad can cut if she wants but Cambell Brown grow longer like Ann's or even see who grows the longest before a cut

I have to say it looks pretty much like a nothing cut... maybe I need to get rid of this stuff, cut it off. I mean it really has no style no flare...just some shorter.

After watching the Today show this morning I thought Katie's hair looked even shorter this morning. I imagine that was due to styling differences though. I also got a better look at the back of her hair and could tell that it was cut short in the back as well.

I think it's pretty obvious that she had it cut after the Today show on Friday. I couldn't really tell much from the Wireimage pictures. They were taken a little too far away to tell much.

I have found a website with some photos of Katie from last week. They have not yet posted any from this week with her new cut. When they do it should make for some great before/after comparisons to see how much was cut.

Here are a couple of the links. The first one is from last Friday:

Ben, excellent "before" shots. Don't my "after" shots count from the other day?

I hadn't seen her since I started the thread and didn't know she had gotten it cut.

That will teach me to open my yap! Sort of the same theory as with my wife--just about the time she gets the length to the point where she can put it up and I really like it, she decides to get it cut.

Back to Ms. C--biggest change in length since she started growing it out. And I concur--a lot less style and pizazz. Now I have the length not to like as well as the color. For my money, she should have left it alone. Not exactly a WTHWST hairdo, but close. A restyle--maybe a little layering- might help.

Gord's photo isn't terribly flattering, but in that shot, it really makes her face look round.

And as for the suggestion of going shorter, back to that horrible pixie--THAT would be WTHWST!
