Yes I'm aware that it is almost certainly pinned up. Still am I the only one who looks at these pictures and just thinks she would be WAY better if she made some effort to trim to a shorter style with more to it than her long, boring hair?

No, Trout, you're not the only one, I promise! I've thought for years that Ms. Paltrow should shed the long, flat, one-length, super-straight look and do ANYTHING different. Bangs, layers, shorter, maybe even an odd wave or curl. I've never understood why she clings to such a dull style, even as fashions change. The one movie that comes to mind in which I think she had the best 'do was "The Talented Mr. Ripley," when it was off the shoulders and had some nice soft flattering curls - actually very close to that wireimage pic in your link.

How about Sliding Doors, where a friend talks here into a makeover and they cut her hair to chin lenght and dye it brown, very stunning transformation.

Agreed, agreed, and agreed with all the above. My favorite was Sliding Doors, but anything different (especially without bangs) would be welcome.
