To complete the look, we just had to dye our blond hair all kinds of crazy colors; we opted to use food coloring. Little did we know, it didn't exactly wash out in one shampooing (or 10 for that matter!). Actually, most of it did wash out after a day or two, but unfortunately for me, a lovely bright red (as in fire engine red) patch lingered on my bangs for about a month until my hair grew out enough to cut the color out. This was not the coolest thing a girl in eighth grade could have done, but I just ended up making the most of it as it did become somewhat of a conversation piece!
