I have VERY VERY thick, curly hair and whenever I get a cute, short hairdo, it puffs up majorly. My friends say they have gotten their hair thinned. Does that really work? Does anyone know? Is there anything I can do to my hair to get it looking thinner and/or smoother?? Is there any haircuts or products I can get? PLease help if you can!! Thanks so much.

I don`t have that much useful info to contribute, so I`ll keep it short so as not to allude to the fact that I REALLY know exactly what to recommend here. ;)

I did hear once that hair stylists have a certain technique they use to take out some of the mass in hair.

Without getting it cut, I`d personally say that you could smooth your hair using straightening balm and a hair straightener when it`s totally dry. This takes forever, though, and damaging, I`ve found.
