I`m certainly not wise when it comes to other people`s hair, but regarding MY hair, silicones are a must, otherwise I`d never get a comb through my hair.
For some people, silicones tend to lose their positive behaviors very quickly. For some, it causes their hair to droop and hang limp. It all depends on what type of hair you have. I have long straight hair, and although I don`t go out of my way to find products with silicones, it always seems the coincidence that my product choices have them.
I use Infusium, Pantene and many others which some women would not dare use on their hair. Silicones should not be a "should I" or "shouldn`t I" issue unless your hair just can`t handle them.
Also, if you do like silicone products, you might consider an occasional washing with clarifying shampoo, which tends to remove the build-up some may refer to. Then back to the glossy silky shine!
:-)
