I suggest before you attempt it you deep condition your hair. In this technique, permanent waving solution is combed through the hair from roots to ends to straighten it. It is recommended you wait at least two weeks after the perm (not a problem in your case) and the help of a friend would be good. Hold your head so your hair hangs straight down into the sink. If possible, you should be facing up to protect your eyes. Repeatedly comb the perm solution through your hair, using a large-toothed comb, until hair relaxes. Then neutralize and rinse completely. I have used this technique in the past with very good results. However, NEVER use a chemical relaxer with lye to straighten your perm. The chemicals used to perm hair and the lye in the relaxer are not compatible and will melt your hair. Since your hair is already colored, use a gentle perm for color treated hair and make sure your comb has smooth edges that won`t tear or break your hair. Deep condition your hair a few days afterwards too. Good luck! :)
