Subject: Getting rid of a perm

I have long hair and it's naturally straight with maybe a slight wave. I got a perm over the summer and at first I liked it, but it makes my hair so tangled and causes it to break. It's just too much of a hassle. Also the perm I got was relaxed spiral solution because I still had bleach highlights in my hair that hadn't grown out. Is there any way I can take the perm out without having to wait until it grows out?

hun I'm in the exact same boat as u r. I got my hair permed as well and it gets completley tangly! so I know how u feel. I've heard that if u buy henna(mendhi) powder and mix it with yogurt and olive oil and leave it in for 2 hours, your hair will be once again straight and all the damage from the perm will be restored.

hmm....never heard that one before. Do you know of anyone who has tried it before? I also heard someone say that if you go back to a salon and have them put the perm on again but then brush your hair straight instead of putting it in rods and it's supposed to take the perm out. But I haven't talked to my hair stylist yet about that.

Doing that is good too, but u have to be sure that your hair wont dry out by doing that.
I'm not sure if my suggestion totally works. Another member told me about it in one of my other threads. I haven't actually tried it so I wouldn't exactly try it until you've done some research and talk to some other people who've done it.
Hope this helped!

Be careful with henna! Make sure you've checked out the Internet for information first, as some hennas (metallic ones) mean you can't colour or perm your hair until it grows out...
