I have stick straight hair and LOVE curly hair -- how many of you have permed your straight hair?

Did you like it??

Thanks!

I have permed my straight hair and I liked it but I am now considering straightening my hair because I like it straight too and perming all of the time is hard on my hair and drying.

souffoue, i have thick blonde hair and i recently got a spiral perm. i told my stylist that i wanted my perm to be as curly as possible. she wrapped my hair with like 80 pink rods. it was so tight to my head. i looked like a poodle but the compliments were coming from everywhere. i just love my head full of tight ringlets!! i would recommend a very curly perm not a dull body wave. good luck future curly-top!!!

I used to be severely obcessed with curly hair. I'd spent so much on curling irons.

Perming your hair cuts styling time in half. But whatever you do, get your perm at a salon; I had a friend do my home perm. My head looked like it crawled out of the sewer.

Just know that your perm will most likely ended up slightly or somewhat frizzy. That's what curly hair does, it frizzes up.

But I think it's worth it.

Hi Roopdh. I have wavy hair that sticks out everywhere. I experimneted with curling tongs years ago but gave up, I could never get it right. Recently I read here about setting on rollers, this was also fiddley doing it myself. By the way I don't like perms, too hard on my hair. I talked to a stylist at a salon near home and got her to set my hair on rollers (adding lots of mousse). I really liked the curly look and now get it set most weeks. It looks great for a few days. Mind you as soon as it gets wet it all falls over ! Same thing in the shower so its on with a liitle pink shower cap. (Now I look like my mother) (-: Give it a go and let me know how you get on. LOL Dawn

With a curling iron you get much better looking curls. They are uniform, but they give your curls no real movement at all. Also it takes FOREVER to curl your whole head, especially difficult with the back.

If you do perm, do it right the first time. Hair that's never been permed looks the best. Your curls move around a lot too, unlike with a curling iron.

I recently had my hair permed because I was so tired of my straight hair... I thought I couldn't do anything with it. But I miss my straight hair now, and wanting to get my hair straightened. My hair looks beautiful permed, don't get me wrong, I just really miss the straight look... it seemed easier, actually! I don't recommend the perm, but if you feel the need... lol
