There are no words to describe my destroyed hair except SPLIT ENDS, BREAKAGE, and FRIZZ.
First, my hair has gone through an aweful lot in the last month. Being an experienced hair colorer (of my own head) I attempted to do highlights...took real well to my roots which turned platinum blond, leaving the rest its previous color - redish brown. Went to have it fixed where they applied a full head color, and then highlights. during the process the girl combed my naturally curly (frizzy) hair while it was dry, tearing through it over and over again...like she thought it was going to untangle it (obviously little experience with my hair texture), when I was done there was so much hair on the floor, it looked like I got a cut too! Well now that the color is better, I have sooooo much breakage you would swear my hair was layered as well. it looks terrible and feels terrible. I have tried a mayo protein treatment from sally's several times, with very little, if any, improvements. I just do not know what to do next. I need to fix it before it ALL breaks off. HELP ME, what should I use...at this point I am willing to spend some $$$$ if I am sure to get results!
Any help is extremely appreciated!
Also, I have this horrible habbit of straitening it with a blowdryer and ceramic straitener. just so much easier to keep under control.

You need some serious deep conditioning. I do this myself once a week at home--I have a bonnet dryer for really intensive conditioning. 30 minutes every Sunday. I haven't had a haircut for 6 months & I don't have a single split end. There are some great products out there--Phytologie has some great deep conditioning oil. Check out www.beautysak.com or www.sephora.com.
However, at this stage I would suggest going to a salon for a deep condition treatment, perhaps once or twice a week for at least a month before you start doing it on your own. It will cost a few dollars but it will help salvage your hair.

If you want to save money, try Garnier 3 Minute Deep Conditioning Masque. It's in a little green tub for about 4 dollars or less.
I recently tried it and it made my hair so soft and shiney. I am now a believer in conditioning masques. Other people have had good results with this masque too.
If you are willing to spend more, there are conditioning masques from the new Triple Moisture line from Neutrogena (around 7 bucks) or L'Oreal VIVE (around 7 bucks, they have different ones, from color revival to smooth intense masques).
They are in little tubs too, but they are worth every penny.

Hi all. I do the same sort deep conditioning treatment every couple of weeks. Wrap some plastic around my hair and let the heat of my bonnet dryer do its stuff. It makes such a difference to my hair. LOL

Curly hair is not a curse, it's all about the right products and the patience to take care of it.
My daughter has natural, beautiful long curly hair (much like Halle Berry's new look). It took quite a bit of time for us to figure out how to work with it, but one of the best websites we've found is http://www.ouidad.com. - http://www.ouidad.com. This site lets you do a profile, and them picks the products that would be most beneficial to you. A bit on the expensive side, but well worth the money if you really want to love your curls.
Also, find someone who specializes in cutting curly hair and is in high demand. My daughter and I recently found a woman in Huntington Beach, CA, who is in constant demand for her talents regarding curly hair cuts.
The Ouidad website also helps you to find salons and stylists in your area who have gone to school or specialize in Ouidad's "slice and dice" cuts.
For anyone in the Orange County, California, area who is looking for a superb stylist, let me know and I'll be happy to provide you with the information that you're looking for.
Good luck,
------------- Paula F
