I have thick, poofy hair and I wanted to have it relaxed but the salon guy told me I couldn't since I have dyed hair. So, here's the question -how can I turn my poofy hair into sleek and straight? I heard that Hai iron is pretty good, but I also heard it's expensive, I would buy it, but will it work for my hair? Also what products should I use to make it...well less poofy. Thanks:D

You can actually get your hair relaxed if your hair is colored. . .highlighted is a different story. Have you ever tried blow drying your hair with a round brush and hair dryer? Get a really good product with silicone (paul mitchell gloss drops, redken glass, or Ben de Terre recovery complex) apply it to towel dried hair and blow dry section by section until completely dry. I know this sounds like a lot of work, but you'll be amazed how quickly it will go when you get the hang of it. Don't give up!

You could buy Olgivie hair straightener and since your hair is colored you could use only half of the product mixed with your favorite conditioner.
Before applying the straightener you could protect the ends of your hair with vaseline or petroleum jelly. After this process your hair would be permanently straight, no need to blow dry.
What do you think?

Just make sure you follow the directions and timing for the straightener I have heard you should not let it on hair for too long. You should follow what the directions dictate.

If you are diluting a straightener with a conditioner half and half, there is no way you will get permanently straight hair. Even professional relaxers for colored treated hair are just strong enough at best, to take only the frizz out of hair. I know, because I've tried them.
