Im a guy with thin curly hair. I think i want a product with alot of weight to keep it from poofing up when dry. Idealy i could keep it wet all day.
what do you guys reccomend?

Any kind of serum or spray gel for frizzy hair.

Try L'Oreal Smooth Intense Serum, Garnier Fructis Spray gel, FX Pro Vitamin Curl Up (hard to find, FX does make a lot of products for curls), KMS Curl products (expensive), Hask products (really good)...look around see what you can find.

I don't recommend gel or mousse, because you end up with crunchy curls.

what do you think about hair wax?
I think it might weigh down my hair. maby make it look wet all day. Im affrade that with a spray it would just be too light. Remeber when my hair drys its basicly an afro.

i have to agree and say that your best bet would be a wax, one reason is because it is remoldable. you can always spray a bit of water and tame it if it starts to act funky.

I have very poofy/frizzy hair and personally cannot use spray gels or the like because they are just too light. I use gel even though it does make my hair a bit crunchy and has that wet look at first; the crunch will wear off eventually. When i had my hair super-short though, i loved using a small amount of gel along with a bit of wax.

The best styling product I've ever used is Phytospecific Beauty Styling Creme. It's main ingredient is shea butter so it's very gentle. It's also very heavy & you can use as little or as much as you want.

Well, ive tried some cheep waxes and don’t like how they feel sticky or greasy.

I also tired a product called biosilk and i really like the way that it makes my hair feel but its just not heavy enough.

Do some of the products you guys recommend feel sticky or greasy?

I have seen people with gorgeous curly hair and it looks so good and smooth you just want to run your hands through it. can i ever have hair like that?

Maybe its the conditioner …

The Phytospecific is a little greasy but not nearly as bad as many that I've tried. Also you only need to use a very small amount.

For quality shampoos & conditioners I use Alterna (also at www.beautysak.com), Phytologie (although you get a very small amount for what you spend) and Ouidad (which someone else has already posted all over the place here). All specialize in curly hair & IMO they really do make a difference.

I have very curly hair and it is mid length.
The product that I have found and it is my Holy Grail of products now is Aveda's Brilliant styling creme.
It smells great and (use a little of it) either smooths out your hair if you are doing a blow out..OR..it makes the curls nice and soft without frizz. In the humid weather of Ohio - when I use this product - my hair stays frizz free.
Another HUGE HUGE thing..drying hair natuarally or using a defuser with dryer on low..that keeps away the frizz.
The scrunching and blowing directly on the curl (of the 80's) only leads to frizz.
With curly hair..washing it every other day or if you can every 3rd day..is the ultimate. Inbetween to keep it looking fresh and smelling fresh I use
Herbal Essence leave in spray conditioner on the underneath of my hair and comb threw with my fingers.

This freshens up the curls and just let it airdry.
Hope this helps ...from a veteran Curly-Q.
