I love my curly hair! It has always been long and I love it sooo much! I go to the same hair stylist and she always tries to convince me to go shorter. Finally I decided it would be ok to go shoulder length (My exact words being "as long as it can go in a ponytail because I like to put it up at the gym"). Afterall it will grow back right! Well, it's 1/2" in the front and about 1" in the back. I am so upset and I have cried every day for the past week. She has always cut my hair with my back to the mirror so I can watch my daughter. I feel like she took advantage of that opportunity. I HATE this cut so much. She keeps telling me it will grow back in month but it's been a week and I'm really doubting her words. I am so upset and I keep reading about how hair can only grow 1/2 a month. Can I speed this process up?? My hair already grows so slowly. HELP!!!

She lied to you.

Hair grows at a rate of 1/2" per month. It's going to be a year before you'll get all your hair in a ponytail again.

You need to find yourself a new stylist.

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

its true, she lied
hair does only grow 1/2" but seeing as you seem to have a lot of growing to do you need to not get it trimmed very often or, if possible at all. Just make sure you take good care of your hair so the ends don't get damaged, and thus have to be trimmed. One product that i finds does a good job (im currently trying to grow out my hair as well) is by frizz ease its called miracle recovery or something like that, it comes in sample pouches that are only about $1 use that every once in a while.
one pointer use it on a night or day where you're not going anywhere cause your hair afterwards is really weighed down from the conditioner.

Thats horrible! If you are completly miserable, you could always consider extensions. They are extremely pricey, and might not feel real, but might be worth it.
