I've got , like the topic says, thick, wavy hair. It's really thick and it's pretty curly in the back.

That's about 2 weeks old.

But I still look like that for the most part. I need to know what to do with my hair.

Underneath that top layer you see is wiry hair. Not too bad, but it's wiry. What can I do to fix that layer of hair underneath the top layer. I've actually got like 4 layers of hair on my head. My hair's pretty kinky.

I'm going to someone for a haircut next week and I don't know what I want to do. I can choose not to go, to go and thinnen it, or to cut it short (which I'm not doing.)

Any advice on how to deal with my hair? I'm thinking possibly thinning it on top and not messing with the length except for maybe trimming up the bangs to keep it even with the sides. And I also am thinking I could keep the ends thick and how they are so it will weigh the hair down and not stay poofy.

Any advice is appreciated.

Guys are really growing their hair out now. My sujestion to you is add some texture. Sometimes on my male clients growning out their hair, I slide cut it in sections where there is weight. That takes out bulk, and adds texture without taking any length. Add a little pomade, that will help shape your wave and give you some control to your style.
