All relaxers (perms) I use are no-lye. I dont` even want to try lye. Anyway, the perm I use the most and stand by is "Creme de Nature"....I`ve also used "Precise", "Just for Me" (technically for children). Lye has a stronger effect, but I dont` suggest using it. No-lye is just as good and safer.

All relaxers contain lye. No-lye relaxers contain a milder version of lye called calcium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide.

No-lye relaxers leave the hair shaft unprotected and damaged. It also gives it a dull look.
