My hair is dark brown and relaxed. I want my hair color to be light brown. I don`t want a permanent. I would like to just use a rinse. What should I use? And would I need to get my hair lighten?

I have bad news for you. There is no way to make dark brown hair light brown unless you bleach your hair first. To make hair lighter you must remove some of the dark pigment, and replace it with the new lighter color. Therefore you need a permanent or semi-permanent hair color. These use what is called lifter to remove your darker color and replace with the lighter color.

A rinse is only tempory color that after a few washings it`s wash out. It only covers. So a light color rinse on dark hair will not change the color, it may give you a few highlights, maybe.

You already have a relaxer on your hair and to then to color the hair could be damaging. It`s done everday though, just be sure to wait two weeks between the relaxing and coloring. Always condition your hair.

Good Luck.
